Thanks for all the info, guys. The sheath is still 'serviceable' but it really is showing it's age- floppy and worn in some areas, hardened and stained in others.

I like the shadowbox idea. I may clean it up and use it on a hunt this year then clean it and put it on display.

I love my .45ACP wheelguns. And I'm on the opposite From Bigslug- I'd rather do moonclips than Autorim rounds. AAMOF, I think I have half of my first and only box of .45Autorim still around somewhere. The whole allure of the .45ACP revolver is having "packetized" ammo.

My brother has the single shot version of that rifle. It is amazingly accurate gun, and was his go-to rifle when Jihad was declared against the squirrel attic invaders. It handles those Aguilla "SSS" heavy .22LR rounds like a champ and would quietly dispatch the tree-rats like no body's bu...

That is pretty cool. You used to see the bolt action shotguns all over the place, but I cant think of a time I've seen one for sale (in a shop) for the last few years.

I change carry guns all the time. I know that is not the "accepted doctrine" of CCW, but yeah... when it gets cold, I look forward to carrying some of the "big guns".

I also have a couple of BCA uppers, and absolutely ZERO complaints. There is a lot of hate spewed toward them online, but in my experience and in the experience of people I trust (and Chris), they are good to go.

To answer the OP- I would probably go for the Ruger right now. Nothing wrong with the S&W, and my brother has a 6" 610 that I love shooting... just I'm kinda on a Ruger kick these days.
