Re: I have a reloading question
No experience with 6ARC yet, but I have played with my 6.5 Grendel a bit. 2000MR, H4895, Varget, Benchmark, and IMR 3031 have been my usual choices. I am not sure how well those powders cross over with the 6ARC though.

Re: I’m a sucker for a Ruger….
Nice score. Having both GP100 (6") and 686 (4") I can assure you that neither has had an issue from the short ejector rod. The closest I can.to having and issue was when the GP was very dirty from shooting some .38s with dirty powder and then I threw a full house .357 in it. That case foug...

Re: Finally might have a viable battery type
An EV truck capable of doing and comparably equipped to my current truck will cost roughly $35k more on the low end of the spectrum. I can buy a lot of fuel and oil changes for that $35K difference. To put a higher output level 2 charger on my house will ultimately cost me about $20k due to what wou...

Re: New 7.6 Creedmoor
6.5x55 is more than capable of running at or better than 6.5 CM velocities if you load to CIP standards instead of SAAMI standards. It fits just fine in a M96 or M98 magazine.... I have not really been terribly impressed with the CM offerings so far. Their velocity advantage seems to be mostly tied ...

Re: New 7.6 Creedmoor
Well I got fooled which I don't know which way I want to take it. Am I gullible (not usually) or am I so used to new useless new cartridge announcements that I'll believe anything.... I can see how that could happen. It seems like something new comes out every month. In any event, new cartridge? Go...

It's a .458 so it starts with the ballistic properties of a brick.

Re: New 7.6 Creedmoor
Considering what today's date is, no need to worry about it as a new cartridge to drain supplies for existing cartridges.

Re: Just when I thought I was done……they pull me back in!!
That's one heck of a score. Those Remington 405gr bullets have been unobtainable as a component for a long time. I went with the Speer 400gr for a while since they were available.
Now I want to load up some .458 WM at .45-70 BP velocities.

AI still makes a lot of mistakes. Yesterday I was trying to troubleshoot an ozone monitor that I was unable to recalibrate, and while searching for some answers the AI suggestions kept having me look for issues with a completely different monitor system from the model I was asking about. Of course t...

Re: Not ready for unveiling, at the planing/build stage...
Funny enough I just found my copies of Cartridges of the World and I'm looking... I had a Ruger #1 tropical in .458 Win Mag and that is kind of what I want to recreate except a slightly lighter gun and somewhat lighter recoil. .458x1.8. Its like a somewhat lighter recoil .458 WM. 400gr Speer at 180...

Re: What time is it? 625 JM standard time.
GP100 in 10mm is a nice setup. Mine is a conversion that started life as a .357. 180gr at 1350-1375 fps. I have yet to load up some 200gr cast bullets at very mild velocity though. .41 mag feels almost as much of a handful as .44 mag (I have hands less than the ideal size for the grip on a 629 or Re...

There is a wonderful satisfaction in the metallic “thunk” when a moon clip slides home. I wont argue against that statement. I have two Rugers that "require" the use of moon clips. They function just fine without them. It would be amusing if someone offered a 10mm Auto Rim case though.

That has to be a lot of fun to shoot.
I think my moon clip loader is from the same place. I doubt you will really need to worry about the moon clips in any book safe .45 load though.

Re: Bergara B-14
I need to run things through Quick Load once I have fired brass to measure, but im thinking Retumbo, H1000, RL-22, or N560 should be decent options. I dont know if I will be able to run 160gr CX or some of the heavier .284" bullets due to the twist rate though. Even the 150gr CX comes up as mar...

Re: Bergara B-14
I have never fired a Bergara, but I have heard many good things about them. 7 RM 150gr CX (twist rate might be marginal for this bullet) to 6mm-06 90gr CX. If I push the 7 RM I might be able to push it to 3100 fps with the 150gr (Rem 700 .30-06 does that with a 150gr Interlock and book load, but tha...

Its been a while since I picked up something new, and the local place kinda got me. I had been debating getting a "magnum" for a while, and was going back and forth between 7mm RM and 7 PRC. The difference between them didnt seem to be great enough to pick one over the other. The deciding ...

I wonder if each respective company makes their own brass or if it’s made by Starline? Quick search suggests that Olin acquired Ammo Inc assets that included the facility Ammo Inc was producing brass in, which was previously acquired by Ammo Inc from Jagemann Munition Components. So it would appear...

Can I get one in .276 Pedersen to try out? .30-06 just seems so boring anymore..... I really should load up some M1 specific .30-06 and actually take mine to the range some time. Only been safe queens for something like 9ish years.
