22 ammo.....anyone remember these

I don't
Shot loads of 22 and don't ever recall seeing them.
Pretty odd bullet.
Figured fine or worth trying in some of the old semis as they are Hi-Speed.

Re: Sporter outing

Gonna have to do some more model number study. . . I'd always been under the impression the 75 was the same gun as the 69A, but with a heavy target barrel. Obviously not always the case. Looks like yours has a stock and sight upgrade from what I know of 69's. Dunno. . .they put sporter barrels on 5...

Re: Sporter outing

That's a line up to make anyone envious for sure. Savage for the win! 3 of them came from Mike's place. Either before or just after hitting the floor The 75 had a messed up stock which equaled cheap. The savage sporter....no mag = very cheap Your right on these Savage sporters....you see one pick i...

Using The DST is scary light on it.
I pretty much avoid it.
It's one of the very few guns I've picked up at a gunshow.

Re: Revolver loader.

Bigslug brought up a good point. Would be handy for a single action loading gate. He did and the concept has merit. What I see is design flaws 1 it is too bulky....it needs to be like a stick mag/ pez dispenser for you old kids. 2 the loading mechanism is too close to the cylinder rules out bulkier...

Re: Savage Sporter

Thanks ....Just had to figure out the rear sight.
It's a bit different than the norm.
It's like a very mini buckhorn
Initially I was just putting the ball in the V even with the top.
Looked right
It will actually settle down farther in the v
Once known it's easy....lol

Re: Savage Sporter

Took her out again with my youngest son. I had him shoot first as his eyes have to be better than mine. Put a little red spot about the size of a pinky fingernail in a white circle. Put it out at 15 yards...yeah I know but it was the distance I could see the spot well enough to aim. His first shot w...

Re: Savage Sporter

If you find it consistently shoots high I'd go the file/cold blue route first. Takes just a minute, cost basically nothing, does not detract from the value of the rifle and gives you time to "think about it". Another redneck....love it I'll probably bring the file and a few standard veloc...

Re: Savage Sporter

I'll have to shoot this one more to figure out just what I want to do. See just how close it is on paper. Some options I was thinking. It has two tapped holes on the back of the receiver Use the larger and add one forward of the Ejection port. Put on a rail and mount a scope. File the rear sight gro...

Re: Savage Sporter

It was 25 yards my swag on the first couple shots was about am inch high with the elevator in. I took it out and it didn't seem to change much or at all. I then just aimed about an inch low and. Consistently started to hit golf balls. I guess I'm not the only one who likes shooting them as there are...

Re: Savage Sporter

It was just standard velocity aguila
Thanks for the tip.

I have a similar product
It's an amalgamator it softens the original finish where you spread and even it back out.

Kind of a bummer is
I was comparing it to the hornet which is scoped but it lacks the holes it has for a sidemount.
