I have I nice stash of 100 grain Reminton core locks. 13 grains of 4227 is really accurate in my 1873 Winny. This one iI had relined because the bore was gone!

Re: Brought the boys to the range...guess you could call them young men now
Sounds like a fun day! I had the same issues with my M57. Replaced the extractors, ejector and firing pin, main spring. Not a fun job, and it still has issues sometimes. Jack First has lots of parts!!

Uberti makes fine rifles! .32-20 is one of my favorites, probably why I have three rifles and two pistols in .32-20!

Re: Just when I thought I was done……they pull me back in!!
As far as reloads with 405 cast, I've had great luck with 40 grains of IMR3031. I shot it in my trapdoors and is very accurate. Also had good luck with 5744 but that stuff is hard to find anymore, don't even know if it's still made. Just for giggles I loaded up some Pyrodex, 60 grains filled the cas...

Levermatic!! Nice stock! Very short lever throw. Basically a lever action model 60. Came out almost a year before the model 60. Typical Marlin, mine shoots lights out!! You will enjoy it. Next up a model 39!!

First of 2026! Found a unicorn!
My favorite LGS collects lever actions, we have the same taste in guns. He took this one in on trade and figured it's right up my alley!! He had been lusting for one of my 1893 Marlins for a long time so we arranged a trade! It's a model 62 Marlin in .30 carbine. Made in 1967. Came with two mags and...

Last one of 2025!
Found this one on New Years Eve. 1903 Winchester. A bit of an oddball in .22 Winchester automatic. Made in 1929. Already found ammo, will go shooting tomorrow weather permitting! May have passed on this one but it has the original Lyman tang sight, worth almost as much as what I paid for the rifle! ...

Re: Li'l Sharps .38-55!
Well, the set trigger is typical. It's only adjustable from 1.5-1.7 pounds, to light for me. The regular trigger is about 6.5 pounds with just a little creep but it breaks clean! The rest of the stuff is a minor problem, easily fixed. They come is other calibers but the .38-55 is the only one that i...
