Re: electronic ear plugs
I have some in ear monitors for playing (think really high quality earbuds with built-in drivers ) They come with rubber and foam tips, 3 sizes. Foam is similar to an ear plug for hearing protection.
The rubber tips are easy to put in and take out. If I was playing in a band for a long concert or at a bar, I would go with the foam because they shut out A LOT of ambient noise and loud sounds. So the foam may provide better sound insulation, but I wonder if the body of the hearing protection unit would conduct sound, what with it being solid.

98% chance these Caldwell electronic ear hole pluggers are going right back to Uncle Larry. One works, one doesn’t. I won’t **** around with fiddly things while hunting. And these are fiddly things.

I read some of the reviews that said that is covered in the manual, that you have to pair them with each other, or something? Might RTFM if you haven’t so far

I read it, think I followed the directions correctly. I’ll try again tomorrow.bullsi1911 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 2:31 amI read some of the reviews that said that is covered in the manual, that you have to pair them with each other, or something? Might RTFM if you haven’t so far

Re: electronic ear plugs
Ok, I dig the Caldwell electronic ear hole pluggers.
I have ZERO interest in them being Bluetooth. I simply want ear pro that I can still hear my surroundings. Anyone calling can really just piss off till I’m done hunting. But anyway, it comes with it.
Wore them while walking the dog tonight. Seemed to be able to pinpoint sound WAY better than the Walker muffs. And, I didn’t have to wear muffs. Only real noise test I did was to pop a primer from my 300 BO. Seemed quiet enough.
So, I approve.

Re: electronic ear plugs
I hereby retract my approval of the Caldwell electronic ear hole pluggers.
The left plugger is consistently not powering on.
Would have been so simple to take regular NON Bluetooth earmuffs and make them into plugs. No reason to complicate things for the sake of being “connected”.
Now get the fudge off my lawn while I yell at clouds.

Re: electronic ear plugs
well those are out of my cart now.
Re: electronic ear plugs
As of last night, Bullsi was having issues getting them to work. So the quest continues. I really like the idea of the non electronic ones. At least for hunting. But Im not sure how much you can actually hear. I may give them a go and return them if they dont work. I DONT want anything else that I need to charge or screw with.

The Walkers are still on sale for $40 more. Nowadays that’s a Five Guys burger dinner for 2. They work very well and mine are going on two years of continuous use now. They live in my Jeep.

I may try these also. The one thing I REALLY like.... is it has a tactile off and on switch. The Caldwells sucked purple donkey dicks in that respect. Hold your finger on the outside for one second to do one thing, two seconds for another, slide you finger up and down for volume. No. Just no. Give me a switch I can flip on and not have to **** with stuff. Has a charging port for a USB cable which I have all over. Lasts way longer than I would need between charges.

Of course, a can is the proper answer for hunting without ear pro. And I have a sneaking suspicion Ill be filing the 'fudge me in the ass for $200 if it pleases the crown' paperwork when I get back from Texas at the end of next month. Im easily influenced.

Re: electronic ear plugs
They're like potato chips, you can't get/make/have just one
FYI, form 1 isn't any worse than a form 4, and I'm pretty sure you have the skills and tools to make one
EDITED to add: Just don't start until you have the paperwork to prevent an "intent to build" charge.
All you have to put on the Form 1 is length, caliber and serial number. You can decide that early on.
Also, as far as I'm concerned, a trust is the ONLY way to go.
I got mine from these folks

I bought these from Amazon. They work better than they should and I'm wearing them while test firing in my small shop. And they stay in place.

I’ll try calling their support line today and see if they can fix it. Then I’ll send em back

Couldn’t get a call in. Too busy at work. Filled out the online support thing Thingie, and have gotten no response.
Seems this is working as well as the ear pluggers
