I got a chance to try the paper cartridges today, in my shop actually which turned it into a smoke cloud but they work exceptionally well. For some reason I'm getting higher velocities with them using the same powder and charge. And no paper remnants left over either.

Made a die to punch out percussion caps. I can make primers too. It works very well.

Both but it's best with .006 brass shim stock. They fit perfectly on my 1858 nipples.

Nipple fit is important.

Excellent gun. You’re gonna like that pistol. Do yourself a favor and buy the Shield Arms 15 round all metal body mags and their mag release. They sell it as a combo for a good deal.
I’ve been running SA for 3 years now zero issues. Glock 10 round mags sit gathering dust but I use them for training new shooters.

I’ve not heard 100% reliability from shield mags.
Some have no issues.
Some do.
I ain’t messing with perfection.

Trust me, no one is surprised.

I want a G48, for very important objective reasons...
Once I put a RDS and a light on it, it dimensionally looks like I left my G34 in the dryer too long.

I found a local Ham club on Google but there is no number listed. I got on a local repeater frequency where the same guys always talk, introduced myself and acknowledged that I only have a gmrs license but had a quick question. They immediately jumped my shìt and scolded me. It's like they don't want the hobby to grow.Japhy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 9:37 pmWhat was your question?Justsomedude wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 3:58 am The local ham radio guys ran me off for asking a simple question wItHoUt a LiCeNsE. I agree with your assessment. I apologize on behalf of any and all amateurs that were in any way dismissive. I and many other amateurs know well are always inviting to anyone with an interest. Most I know here I have met through multiple organizations with a wide range of interests within the very broad category of amateur radio a license is not a requirement for any amateur organization that I am a member. We volunteer in the community, hold classes for those interested in becoming licensed, host social events, and other activities. I hope your take away does not brand all amateurs in an unfavorable light.Justsomedude wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 11:50 pmI found a local Ham club on Google but there is no number listed. But now that I have an RDS on mine I question the need for a longer slide. I MIGHT either buy a 43X MOS to see if there is any difference or just send my 43 slide to Justsomedude to mill and install a sight. Might…. No real reason since the 48 carries so nice it’s not really a need but…. Oh hell, I don’t know why…
Re: The last person to post in this thread don’t get nothing.
Yeah the extra length of 48 doesn’t make a much sense when you have an RDS.
I pondered both models, but went with the shorter because I knew I was adding the dot.

Some of the real nerds out there will make note about smoother or snappier recoil impulse blah blah blah, but it's all 9mm so it can't be that different.
If I were buying again I would save the $100 or so by getting a G17 or G45 over the G34. As it stands, I already have the gun.

Is there concern about hot gasses from the powder igniting in the chamber? Or are those going to be lined with a metal?
