Spain
Other than Enzio, anyone else been to Spain?
I spent 8 years in Europe, and never got to Spain, England or France.
In September, my wife and I are doing a couple months in Spain. Gonna base in Andalusia and do a little jaunts around the region.
Gonna do what we did in Italy.
Go native.
Shop in the local grocery. Eat in the little out of the way establishments. Walk the quiet streets.
Any suggestions for the Costa Del Sol region?

I love your plan, I did the same, to my mind I'd rather get to know an area well then see a different city everyday.
No suggestions for the South, I spent all my time in Madrid and Catalunya, other than have a great time!
I guess I do have one, get into some of the Spanish gun and knife stores. Really nice escopetas and blades.

Someone made a post on the facebook G&A Forum Refugees group.
Re: Spain
It's been 30 years or so, but I have nothing but great memories. My route begain at the French border, middle of the country, through Madrid and straight south to the coast and on to Barcelona where it ended. Just beautiful country everywhere, as I recall.
Oh, and the wine flows out of every spigot you'll see and it's all good stuff.
Drove it, took 3 1/2 weeks to wander...fantastic trip, great memories.
Have fun.

Daniel
I predict you and yours are in for a great time!
It’s been quite a few years but Spain was wonderful
Take time to do more than walk in the cities throw the landmark checklist away. Ibiza and Mallorca were a waste of time and money in my mind. Since you are already near Lisbon and the Portuguese coast is a weekend trip. I would recommend it.

And as long as you stay off the plains, you should have great weather

Re: Spain
Our plan is to have no plan. Sevilla, Cordoba, Ronda and a host of little white villages are in the process. Mostly just walking the quiet streets and out of the way places. It's what we did in Italy. It's where you find stuff like this.

Re: Spain
My son lives in Sevilla, we've been there 4 times already and still see new things there, Cadiz is a great village on the Atlantic coast to go and stroll around, Granada and Cordoba are still on our planning but supposed to be more then worth the time if you apreciate the history of southern-Europe.
the small white villages all around are just that, beautifull to see one but then.. I forget Jerez, go there too, worth the time. And food !!! you gonna gain weight a lot for cheap
