Range day!! Pistol style.
Range day!! Pistol style.
Well this has been about the wettest year I can remember. It’s been raining a lot, buckets and buckets! Sako and I had range day plans but after a heavy rain our range turns into a giant mud pit. So, we opted to shoot at the pistol range today we gathers put favorite hand cannons and pea shooters. Sako brought a cool smoke wagon!
The last photo was the wall of water coming our way from the west.
No real hardcore accuracy work but a lot of fun shooting, chatting and swapping. Oh and sako kept a close eye on his 41 mag Ruger….had to get the Jeff Quinn Ruger 44special out for some trigger time too!

I should have gotten a stainless Ruger GP100

I drool a little every time Andy brings out those .44 Spl's damn, they are sweet! I can even hit with them
The cap and ball was kind of fun. It's been so long since I fired one I nearly forgot how to load them. The one I'm shooting has an Identical twin and a two gun rig from my dad's SASS days for the BP side matches. It was fun but a lot of work.
Blackhawk flattop 44spl, 3 screw 41 mag and a 3 screw .22lr rounded out my ensemble for the day. A good day at the range without question.

Forgot to mention, I finally fired a Glock I kind of liked. Andy had his little model 42 380 ACP with him and he let me run a couple of mags. I hate to admit it but it was kind of nice and shot where I looked. I would need the extended mags to make it comfortable in my big mitts but I could see owning one.

I really like that lil Ruger.
And I need to get a c&b revolver. Just seems like fun
