Upgraded Ruger MK III grips
Upgraded Ruger MK III grips
I picked up a Ruger MK III Target a while back from a guy that complained he couldn't easily field strip for cleaning. Since then I added a red dot, but haven't been happy with the slim factory grips.
Ordered new grips from a supplier I've never used before - Altamont.
Really liking the upgrade.

Very nice!
I like the "stippling".
You going to ebay the originals?

Altamont is a high end supplier of aftermarket grips. They are very well known and highly thought of in the S&W community and IIRC actually make some OEM grips for the company. Their stuff is top shelf.
Those are really nice looking grips!

Nice work! Very nice the mkiii had the rail mount. That thing should shoot well!
Had just recently reworked my mkii. RDS, grips, and a Voquartsen trigger. All made a significant difference. I tried 2 versions of Hogue grips and settled on the non thumb rest version.

I really like those grips! I have a mkII target that I installed the Hogue thumb rest grips on that I really like.

The optic mount is from Lobos Industries. Really like it as well.

Good looking addition. Altamont is a top notch company in my opinion. I have their faux Ivory grips on most of my Ruger single action.
What can i say, I've got a thing for cowboy guns with Ivory grips

How does that rail mount to the gun?
I like your setup btw!

You have to be carefull with mounts on those guns. The holes are drilled clear through to the chamber. Oil will slosh up in the hole a cause them to loosen. Even loctite gets eaten away by the oil. Mine are almost stripped out cause of the mount and dot rocking around loose. Use oil sparingly. I used to run it pretty wet but not anymore.
