Had no clue there was an Akaushi steak until you posted your past couple meals.

Ribeyes, beer batttered onion rings and zucchini, heirloom tomato and cottage cheese on top.

The center of the zucchini was a bit mushy. Next time we'll cut into spears and throw the center away.

You should get one. They are super versatile, and it gets you cooking outside more.

These were definitely a ‘test run’. I under seasoned them and used too small of tortillas. Wasn’t able to smash it thin enough to get the crispy thin bits that make the ‘smash burgers’ so good.

Experiments continue!

My thing I think was that the side of the meat that was against the tortilla wasn’t crispified.

For Fathers Day I threw a few prime Ribeyes and Filet Mignon steaks I had kept in the fridge vacuum packet in my dry rub for 3 days. Cooked them over lump mesquite charcoal until perfect t medium rare.

Added a batch of oven baked potatoes which I slathered in virgin olive oil and coarse salt and pepper for a crazy good crispy skin and my wife sautéed a batch of assorted mushrooms. Finished the plate with fresh corn on the cob roasted over the same mesquite coals.

Damn that was a good dinner. The leftover steak will make killer sliced cold steak sandwiches on fresh French bread with my orange German ketchup and cheddar.

Breakfast! Duck eggs, bacon, Pillsbury biscuits with freshly made strawberry jelly, and Chalky milk as the kids used to say.

I’d be curious to try them. I have a buddy who’s got a bunch of laying hens who are about ready to start pooping out breakfast. Can’t wait.

Speaking of duck, have you ever had duck sausage?
