I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I moved. When I moved to the mountains in NC I thought my hurricane days were over.

Well they are from me because I moved OUT of there!!!

My old town(s) of Burnsville and Asheville are just crushed!!! If I was still there I'd be in deep crap. The town of Burnsville is no more. The town of Chimney Rock which the wife and I used to go to for breakfast and a walk down the river with the dog is wiped out!.. I was just told that one of the cabins by the river my wife and I had been looking at for buying before we decides to call it quits and head west is now floating down the French Broad River. I was watching what is left of a restaurant that we used to eat in all the time in Chimney Rock and the river ran behind it and there is nothing but the front and some of the structure left...

I'm trying to get in touch with some friends to see how they are doing and no one is responding to my texts.

This just sucks.

I just saw that on October 8th, the gubberment helicoptered in several tons of supplies, to one area that was cut off. Including 2 pallets of battery powered chainsaws. They didn't want to give them gas chainsaws, because of the bad emissions. WTF

Yet as I understand it every power co. truck that is working to get the power back up is either gas or diesel powered.

I can't find enough to feel confident either confirming or denying it.
