Who was it who said their retirement would consist of the time between when their heart stopped and when their head hit the keyboard?😜

I just got a stupid idea but for $75 it may be fun. I was browsing gunbroker and came across these. Solid steel construction and fire a 209 shotgun primer so I know the hammer will work for centerfire. I'm gonna buy one and turn it into a caliber that I haven't determined yet, just for the project and something to do while awaiting Ducati season.

I tested that argument

That's definitely a possibility because I own quite a few boxes of em for my S&W revolver. I'm half tempted to do it in some really stupid caliber but then I remind myself of ammo prices and availability.

This is how we normally do it. My wife still makes portions like there are 3 teenage boys eating dinner. We put leftovers in the fridge and I eat one or maybe two servings for lunch at work. Most of it gets tossed. Aftwr throwing away some of the first batch of chili only to make another batch, I'm trying to fix the waste.

I bought some two cup silicon forms. I put in the leftovers and freeze overnight. Then I vacuum seal it. Now we have chili, vegetable stew, goulash, and pork and sauer kruat in the freezer. I had some of the soup and still tastes fresh.

It's nice having our storage upstairs now. Don't have to go downstairs to get the vacuum sealer..

Did a quick test on the Ninja Crock pot thingie on Sous Vide on some venison tenderloin for lunch today. It came out really good, but I have some reservations about its temp control. I set it at 130 degrees, and when it beeped ready, the water was only 115:

So I cranked it up to 150, and it overcooked the venison at 140- something. So, I need to play with it and see what the deal is.

It was tender, moist, and really good. But just overcooked by color. Not as “pretty” as I wanted.

I’ll keep futzing with it and figure it out.

Interesting phenomenon. I have music playing in the basement. Went upstairs to get a 7up and I could just hear the bass of the song. It's a song I've listened to for decades (Crue: Red Hot). I could hear the entire song in my head right along with the bass. My brain added the rest. Good to know it can still do SOMETHING!

Packed up some pork belly into a vac bag along with the 11 herbs and spices, next week we smoke a da bacon.

She's still kicking but she's losing weight and appetite. Kidney failure. They get terrible breath. It's my wife's cat since before we were married. She gets to decide when to take her to the vet.
