Inexpensive knives- Odenwolf W-Mini and W-Scandi

Post by bullsi1911 »

A while ago, I was introduced to a fairly new knife company: Odenwolf. I was gifted an Odenwolf W-mini. It’s marketed as an EDC fixed blade that comes with a neck lanyard, belt/pocket clip, ferro rod and striker. It is one heck of a nice little edc knife, and it seems to be everything the Mora Eldris COULD have been. Better sheath, better handle, D2 steel, and it’s actually cheaper than the Eldris. I’ve been carrying this as a utility knife for several months, and it is still ‘shaving’ sharp:

So I bought one of thier bigger knives the other day since I liked the mini so much. It is more of a “camp” style knife. D2 steel again, scandi grind, very comfy handle, good sheath, and sharp as hell. Have not gotten to beat this one up as much as the mini, but it seems to be a decent blade for under $35.

Not sure these will replace my Mora knives for hunting, since the Mini does not have the “reach”, and the W-Scandi blade is “deeper” than I like, but they seem to be some seriously nice beater blades for not much money

Had never heard of Odenwolf until my SIL had one on his Christmas list. Don't recall the model but it was similar to the larger one pictured. I was fairly impressed with it when it arrived. Solid blade, plenty sharp and a good feel to the grip.
