Remington 700 in 7mmRM on Sale
Have seen them on sale for a long time. Midway has ADLs in 7mm RM on sale for $499 and that’s a great deal. They also have 30-06s for $539. These also ship free! Not bad considering what 700s are bringing used. Don’t know if these are new ones or old stock they are clearing out.

Decent buy, even if just for the action. If its new stock its a great buy.

Similarly, Joe Bob Outfitters has 700 ADL combos in .243 Win for sub $500. They ARE old stock though. Still a decent price even if just for the barreled action.

Wish I needed one of them. I’ve been itching to build up a few more 700s but I literally have ZERO room for more hunting rifles in the inventory…

You are going to need the right rig when you draw an AZ Buffalo tag next year. just sayinWambli Ska wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 10:50 pm Wish I needed one of them. I’ve been itching to build up a few more 700s but I literally have ZERO room for more hunting rifles in the inventory…

After the last three plus years of wacky, which included Big Green's meltdown, I'd be amazed if ANYONE was clearing out an old stock inventory of 700's. 870 parts were pretty much unobtainium. Never mind the deer hunters - the custom rifle builders would have Hoovered up anything to be had.

Kind’a what I’m thinking. I have not seen their new gun but maybe they are keeping the Traditional ADL as an entry level/loss leader?Bigslug wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 1:35 am After the last three plus years of wacky, which included Big Green's meltdown, I'd be amazed if ANYONE was clearing out an old stock inventory of 700's. 870 parts were pretty much unobtainium. I lately have noticed a lot of older shooters at the range using Remington 700 ADLs as bench guns. Load one round, shoot, take notes and do it again. Not off the shelf rifles, stocks, I'm sure triggers and breaks to start. Maybe becoming popular beyond entry?Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:10 amKind’a what I’m thinking. I seem to recall some ancient lore about blind magazine guns potentially being more accurate due to the stock being stiffer, because it doesn't have the hole in the bottom. Given that pretty much every USG precision weapon now uses DBMs, I doubt it really matters.Diver43 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 4:05 pmI lately have noticed a lot of older shooters at the range using Remington 700 ADLs as bench guns. Re: Remington 700 in 7mmRM on Sale
The 700 ADL has always been a popular gun because you can buy one usually on sale for super cheap from a big outfit, and when the $$$s align you drop it into a good stock, put in a good trigger and scope and you have basically a guaranteed .5 MOA gun with factory ammo, not to mention a NICE gun you can be very proud of at the range. If you handload you can get all holes to touch fairly easily. I’ve “upgraded” probably well over a dozen examples like that for family members and friends over the years and not ONE has failed me.Diver43 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 4:05 pmI lately have noticed a lot of older shooters at the range using Remington 700 ADLs as bench guns. You still hear that at times. I like them because blind mag stocks tent to be lighter weight and since I never load more than two rounds in my rifle while hunting I just like the simplicity of a blind mag.shotgunshooter3 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 4:37 pmI seem to recall some ancient lore about blind magazine guns potentially being more accurate due to the stock being stiffer, because it doesn't have the hole in the bottom. Re: Remington 700 in 7mmRM on Sale
I tend to seat handloads longer than Mag length so many of my rifles have single shot followers in them, so I do mind blind magazines on certain rifles.

Re: Remington 700 in 7mmRM on Sale
Last year I picked up a R700 that was most likely not a new Remington production. I have since picked up a couple new Remington 700s that are a mixed bag. The .30-06 shoots alright driving a 150gr at 3100 fps, but the 6.5 CM doesnt seem to like 129gr at all and so far has been barely acceptable with 140gr.

Re: Remington 700 in 7mmRM on Sale
The 700 action is long enough to work with the .375 H&H Mag and it does NOT get any longer than that. How long are you loading your rounds? You might just need to move up to the longest mag box they make.
Re: Remington 700 in 7mmRM on Sale
My 7 Mag is a single shot because of bullet seat length.
So are my .300 an 7 RUM.
(Which I need to sell anyway.)

Re: Remington 700 in 7mmRM on Sale
Both of my hunting rigs are basically this. The 7mm08 started life as a 700 Classic (and I still have the original stock so I could easily return it to that configuration), and the 7mm RM was an older ADL. The 7mm08 is my ride or die hunting gun and I'm warming up to the 7mm RM (I just wish it would shoot the heavy bullets better).Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 4:50 pmThe 700 ADL has always been a popular gun because you can buy one usually on sale for super cheap from a big outfit, and when the $$$s align you drop it into a good stock, put in a good trigger and scope and you have basically a guaranteed .5 MOA gun with factory ammo, not to mention a NICE gun you can be very proud of at the range. What length barrel do you have on yours? Have you tried any of the no lead options like the Barnes TTSX? They shoot REALLY well out of my 6.5 and I'm going to be testing them in my 7mm RM soon for AZ hunting. They seem to be getting a lot more popular with decent reviews out there with 100% weight retention and excellent expansion.shotgunshooter3 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 2:36 pmBoth of my hunting rigs are basically this. You going to go after jack rabbits and coyotes once you get here? You don't actually believe you can just move here and get drawn for hunting tags right out of the gate...Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 4:16 pmWhat length barrel do you have on yours? Well ultimately I expect to be hunting AZ, hopefully my own land if I play it right. But for now I don’t have to limit myself to AZ. Whole big country out there…Gila wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 9:49 pmYou going to go after jack rabbits and coyotes once you get here?
