Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
Quite the collection. What is the small one in the bottom row?
Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
Room for one more?

Not Bob’s cat.

The full skulls came out nice.

Could be a "guy" fish though. You never know these days

Up at deer camp, start of the 2025 “hunting” season, bastard ran across the foot of my bed last night, 20 yds with an H&R .410 3” Federal 6 shot

Good thing you didn't try a .270 . . . might'a charged.
Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
Forgot the Single-Six and the .22 mag birdshot at home, missed 3X in the shack with a scoped pellet rifle
, one cock Ruger pellet rifle will not penetrate the exterior of a stainless crock pot if anyone needs to know, did a squirrel drive and flushed him out of the upstairs bedrooms and caught him sneaking back

Nah , the moms are not ever going to allow us to film them at hunting camp

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
My question would be why would the wives be at hunting camp?

Cook and clean, deal with the minions, duh
Looking for frogs and toads, they were everywhere, empty cheese balls containers hold a lot of amphibians

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
Needed a meat animal for a family going through some rough stuff.
Headed to the horse farm to see what I could get.
Shot this large Red Hind.......
Saw it from 2 ridges over and managed to stalk to within 180metres. Hind was side on. Dropped it with a top of the neck shot at 177m off my pack.
Tikka T3x in 243
Leica Leica Amplus 6 2.5-15X50i
Remington factory 80gr ammunition.
Small blood spot on the neck is the poi. Dropped on the spot.
Pic of POI Here is a blurry pic of the hind before I shot. (taken with my phone) After putting the phone down, I got ready to take the shot.......when I looked through the scope there was a second hind aboout 1m in front of the 1st one and they were nose to nose almost. When the hind I chose dropped on the spot, the second one just stood there in confusion ....figured 2 deer to field dress was a bit too much so gave it a pass.
Pic from where I shot....blue dot is just below where the hind was standing in a small clear space.
Had been up to check on the horses a few days earlier and to get a 200m zero for the rifle...found it was shooting to within an inch of poi as the 100m zero...which surprised me.
Using my portable hoist and a complicated series of ropes I managed to hang it in the nearest tree to field dress it.....
No way I could carry it out and the slope was too steep to get a vehicle to it, so I tied a rope to its front legs and dragged it 100m down the slope to where I could get the Suzuki 4wd to it....called BH and his son on the radio to help me lift it in.
The family were overjoyed and very thankful.
