I thought this was a neat find 80's technology that pretty much started what we have today.
AND......it still works.

What do you want in trade?

That’s up my alley for nostalgia.

Re: Retro red dot
Is that a "look through" or one of the original "both eyes open" where one eye saw the dot, the other eye saw the target, and the brain had to do the overlay?

. . .and in other news, Michael Jackson's Thriller album just turned 40.
That's cool! I don't remember the exact models when I was doing LGS work in the early '90's, but we had a few that were considered "that old, unsellable thing" even then. In the current job, we've had a few guys recently retire who were SWAT-types 15-20 years back still bringing out there period Aimpoints for patrol rifle quals. Gotta love electronics that still actually work after that long!

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

There is a surprisingly large demand for certain old tech stuff.Bigslug wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 2:12 am . . .and in other news, Michael Jackson's Thriller album just turned 40.![]()

I had picked up an aimpoint 5000 for 15 bucks and left it on my dresser a for probably a year or more.
Turns out AR guys wanted them for Blackhawk down builds.
Wound up selling for 300 and the guy was super happy.
