You have, or are going to, do the auto bolt release? where you lock the bolt back normally, but it only takes a tug on the bolt handle to release it. 5 min with a dremel, once you get the bolt release out
Concerning an extended mag release, I think AMT got it right on my Lightning 25/22. Long enough to be easier to operate, but short enough that in nearly 40 years, I don't recall ever dropping the mag unintentionally.

Haven't measured, but I'd guess roughly 0.5" protrusion

Did the auto bolt release while I had it broke down.
My mag release is similar. It’s perfect for the extendo-cock magazines. Grip the mag and hit the button

Glad that is shooting good, did you like the trigger after you worked on it, need to break it in a bit? Serious grass growing already, we have not mowed for the first time this season yet.

I have been told that working those surfaces is tricky because the hardening is really thin on factory parts. Don’t know if it’s true but just something to watch out for. Nice work though!!!

That’s very possible. When I pull it apart again I’ll check, I’ve got some hardness testing files that need a job. And one portion of the trigger that I hacked away, I’ve hacked waaaay more than would be required to get to the tootsie roll center of the tootsie pop.
If it’s soft, it can get a hammer one day.

I “like” it better than it was, by a loooonggg ways. Do I love it? No, but I have to remind myself of the guns purpose.

Shot at 50, but didn’t get a close look at the targets. Forgot to get pics. They were ok-ish, 3/4-1”, plenty good enough. I blame the loose nut behind the trigger. With the scope maxed at 7, I have to creep up on the scope. Not close, but not arms length like when it’s on 2. I don’t prefer that. How Ernie or others with rifle scopes can creep up on the scope and still shoot baffles me. I despise that.
But here’s some CCI stingers at 25 yards. That surprised me. They opened up a good amount at 50, but I’m pleased they did that at 25

Looks good Pierre.
I'm with you on rifle scopes on pistols. Ernie does well and gets good results with them, I can't deal with them though

I've always liked the 10-22 platform, yet never owned one. You hardly ever see the pistols around here. I got suckered into the Remington 597 instead. Too bad they never got on board with a pistol. Bastards
