Silencer Central can suck my nuts.

Post by CPJ 2.0 »

IF this all comes true (it has) they have gone the way of Zumbo and Bud Light. They have really poop where they eat.

Here’s a video describing it.

https://youtu.be/_Xn-V6oT6u8?si=xNf_I3jDzFNTjsXd

The TLDR is the hearing protection act as a chance of getting through on the budget bill. It would have removed suppressors from the NFA. Meaning they would be treated like any other firearm. Even though they aren’t. But I digress.

Lobbyist and fudge tard “republicans “ got involved and made some changes. They eliminated the $200 tax. Yay!
Except, you would still have to get the stamp. Oh thank you guys! You did so much. fudge you. They need to come off. Period.

Anyway, rumor has it Silencer Central, a company who makes money taking care of your paper work lobbied for that change. Why? Money. With no need to fill out paper work, they lose business.

Now, they made a fancy post on all social media, copy paste political language.
Here it is.

Seems nice, right? They say they support the HPA. Which is true. They don’t mention WHICH version. When asked directly if they support removing silencers from the NFA…….crickets. Which means, they know they **** up.
They are getting ROASTED on social media. And I’m here for it.

Very nice they are protecting their own business interests above those of gun owners which were the guys who’s money got them where they are. If this is true, burn them at the stake…

Oh people saw through the political double talk FAST. There statement is 100% true. They support the HPA.
They just kinda left out the part about supporting it without removing cans from the NFA.
I’ve yet to see a single comment supporting them.

Mildly.

But, maybe not.

Regardless, fudge those guys.

And fudge the guy who decided to gut it.

And fudge all the lobbyist who lobbied to neuter the HPA.

Republicans are no better than the NRA. They support the 2nd amendment so long as it makes them rich. Don't get me started on lobbyists.

House passed it last night. I will not go into all the other negatives in a bill that size, but I am happy the repubs had the nuts to pass the hearing protection act while they scuttled the ship.

So be happy for now. It still has to pass the senate.

Yep! And it’s the full version. Shutting down the WH switchboard worked. They got the message. And to Zorbas dismay, so did the comments on X, formerly Twatter.

I don’t even know what all is in the BBC, (big beautiful bill, whatever) other than no taxes on overtime and other tax reductions. I’m ALL about that.

Is it?
I found the part about silencers..
Sec. 112030. Reduction of excise tax on firearms silencers.
Current Law: Under current law, a “silencer” is defined as a “firearm” (under Section 921 of title 18, U.S. Code) for purposes of the National Firearms Act and is subject to a $200 transfer tax.
Provision: This provision eliminates the transfer tax on silencers.
I'm reading that as it's still a NFA item with all the associated paperwork and BS, I mean BG check, just without the $200 fee

You can get all 47 pages of it, in .pdf here

Okay, I found the amended copy, I STILL don't see anything removing them from NFA. Just removing the $200 tax
https://www.congress.gov/119/bills/hr1/ ... F8DBC7C38D
SEC. 112030. Reduction of excise tax on firearms silencers.
(a) In general.—Section 5811(a) is amended to read as follows:

“(a) Rate.—There shall be levied, collected, and paid on firearms transferred a tax at the rate of—

“(1) $5 for each firearm transferred in the case of a weapon classified as any other weapon under section 5845(e),

“(2) $0 for each firearm transferred in the case of a silencer (as defined in section 5845(a)(7)), and

“(3) $200 for any other firearm transferred.”.

(b) Effective date.—The amendment made by this section shall apply to transfers after the date of the enactment of this Act.
You find a link where a .gov site says that, and I'll believe it. "joe bob.com" saying it's so, isn't going to convince me.

Edited to add:
I did find where NRA-ILA posted that it does remove them.
Does $0 tax remove them? Ellif I know???
We shall see

I have only heard told and not read anything concrete yet. I would much rather pay $1000 extra for a suppressor and not be beholden to atf monitoring than not pay the tax and still be under their thumb. I hope it is the full removal from the NFA, and not that tax free BS. Otherwise this is a giant fail.

Okay.
Now to see what the senate does with it?

Can someone tell me, what's the chance of it passing the senate? And also, will they be treated as a 4473 firearm transfer, meaning that as a simple "firearm" we can make our own like PMF's if it passes?

Since it only needs a simple majority, we have a good chance. The full version got included because we badgered the poop out of our servants. So, we need to keep it up.

As to the second, that’s my understanding.

If they are removed from the NFA completely they are not even firearms. They are like a stock, muzzle device or trigger. Just parts…

False.

They will still be considered “guns”.

The only things on the NFA are the fun stuff. Cans, SBR, SBS, AOW

Ok. I meant to phrase that as a question, sorry. Absolutely didn’t mean to give false info. Just a rushed post while I was on a conference call.

Everything I'm finding says 4473 +Background check because they will be considered "firearms"

Yes CPJ, I was wrong in my earlier posts. Happens sometimes.

Since it is legal to make a firearm for personal use at home, is that going to apply to the non-NFA cans, we'll hopefully be getting soon???
If so, I might be shopping for some aluminum tubing soon. There seems to be only 1 maker of 50 cal cans, not designed for the 50BMG. A suppressed 50 Beowulf would be nice🤔

IF they'll be classified to the extent of a regular transferable firearm and the same applies as a PMF, I'll be having a can for everything I own.

Rand Paul says he’s a hard NO due to the debt ceiling. I think some others have issues with the Medicare part.

I just want cans and no tax on my overtime. And lower taxes in general. SBRs would be nice, real nice, but, I want cans more.
