Prayers of thanks

Post by Freezer »

You will remember a few years ago I asked for suggestions on how to stock a bug out bag for my daughter's family in Finland. Thankfully she never had to use it. Yesterday she gave it away to another immigrant family, she is coming home! It has taken 18 months for her husband's visa request to process but, it's done! They will arrive here in the good 'ol USA next Friday evening! SIX MORE SLEEPS! I'm going to be Pappy to my two grand daughters 5 & 7!

My wife and I have rented a mobile home two miles from our house and have furnished it. All they have to do is grocery shop on Sunday. It is small but will do for a year or two until they establish themselves. My BIL gave them a nice 2018 Ford pickup super cab. All they have to do is get jobs and that will happen quickly. Both have masters degrees, my daughter already has four interviews. Her husband will have no problem getting a job.

My wife and I don't know how to act, we're so excited. We lost a son who was never married, our other son has never married and doesn't have children, these are our only grandchildren. My wife is talking about baking, reading and shopping. The zoo, exploratorium, the aquarium we can't wait! I'm thinking about swimming, fishing, inner tubing and exploring. I bought magnifying glasses so we can look at bugs, I want to take them to the woods to search for critters and poop! You can learn a lot of $#!* from poop! I'm thinking a pair of binoculars is in order. I have a good telescope for star gazing. The camping gear I have hasn't been used in 15 years but will be used again. When my children turned eight, I bought Daisy BB guns and custom made stocks so they would fit the child's LOP correctly, I can't wait!

We are so quick to ask God for help but too often forget to say thank you! I have so much to be grateful for, a second chance at life after cancer surgery and now I will share that life with my children! Please join me as I shout, Alleluia! Thank you Lord!

She would have a grocery list of gun stuff to bring back from Finland if I was her dad ;)

Today is the day! My family will land in the USA at 7:30 pm. By 8:30 I will be hugging my grand daughters for the first time in two years.

The mobile home is ready, it's furnished, the grass is cut, they have food and spices, there are flowers and chairs on the deck and I built a desk and book shelf for my daughter's work. My BIL gave them a nice super-cab truck. My SIL, Ansi, will need to buy a desk and office chair for his office but that's it. There are three last boxes that arrived yesterday with the last of the girl's toys and Ansi's computer. All they have to do is get phones and jobs. My daughter already has four interviews.

The girl's bedroom is decorated and has all their toys in it. I plan to take them out on Sunday to buy bicycles and maybe a nerf gun. I already have fishing rods.

My financial planning has worked out very well and I'm in good shape until they can support themselves.

I still find it hard to believe the plan has come together so well!

And so I ask you to join me agin in saying, THANK YOU LORD!

I hadn't even thought about that! My late son had one, I hit an 18 inch target at 583 yards with the second shot, iron sights. They were awesome rifles.

Dagnabit! Another missed opportunity!
