Me and that ohio feller were talking yesterday, and he made a great joke.

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
It's been a mostly quiet day out here for early antler less. Should at least make it out for the morning tomorrow. Some early shots close by (people just blast away at anything that moves here) but most of the morning and so far just about all the afternoon has been quiet. Spotted three deer this morning (two that I'm not sure on since it wasn't very light out yet and a 6-8" spike that hung around for about 20 minutes maybe 25 yards away) and so far none this afternoon. I should look into a shot load using the Speer .44 shot capsules for this rifle. Probably could have limited on squirrels today.

Thats my kind of hunting. It’s just work after you shoot something
Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
Nothing I can shoot at so far. I'm haven't even seen anything yet today. Lots of people in the area just blasting away though.

Driving the UTV around my cousins place, my partner in crime says “what’s that?” Points to the tree limb. “Ummm, that’s a ground hog. “
I’ve heard they climb trees. Can confirm. And they fall pretty quick with a .22 to the head. Wish I’d have got a pic with it in the tree, but I was rushing to get the charger up and ready.

Filled in the old and dug a new “Train Station” today. Ready for the season that opened last weekend.

Been busy getting greenfields ready
From this To this (forgot to get a pic of it tilled, fertilized and seeded)
and this to this Now to get some rain, before what's sprouted from the first shower dies from lack of water

It has been dry down South for the past 6-8 weeks. Quite the opposite of our Spring and Summer.
Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
Yep
We're in the "moderate" drought area, currently, though the "severe" area's getting closer every report

I've seen it a few times. Not that high though. Usually 3-4 feet.CPJ 2.0 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 8:57 pm Driving the UTV around my cousins place, my partner in crime says “what’s that?” Points to the tree limb. “Ummm, that’s a ground hog. “

This weather has FUBAR'd my food plots. Got enough rain the day after I seeded for the clover and turnip seeds to sprout, then nearly month more of drought killed the sprouts. Latest rain was enough to get the oats germinating, what the birds hadn't eaten
