Linefinder's moved to the big range in the sky

Post by GrapeApe »

His wife Machell posted this on FB the morning of the 13th.
I've posted on my own page, but I wanted to let Michael's friends know that he peacefully past last night surrounded by his family. His battle with cancer had just begun in August. However, like his premature birth brought him into the world early, this battle took him away from us far to soon. I will forever be grateful and blessed to have been his wife. Now I'm begging, please stop smoking.

i just saw it today after another forum member sent me a link to it

Sad. RIP

Still one of the best ever stories. Seems appropriate to celebrate the best.

Damn, that's a surprise to hear. I had no idea he was battling what I'm assuming was lung cancer. Condolences to his family and friends.

Had diner with him and his bride at his house one evening when I was in the area. Quiet. Polite. Intelligent. Hospitable.

AFAIK, he was the 1st "regular" on the G&A forum with QuickLoad.

He and I spent many, many hours on the phone before he and Machell got married and had always planned a PD hunt, until the last round of plague decimated them. When I bought my copy of QL, I spent a couple of weeks learning tips and tricks from him.

The phrase, "another good man gone" definitely applies in this case

Never had a bad conversation with him, super helpful when I had a question, wish I could have met up with him on one of the Colorado trips, anyone heard from Jerrybobco or mosseybuck?

Crap…. He just told me about his stage 4 diagnosis a few weeks ago and I was hoping to get some time to get to CO to meet him in November. We spent a lot of time on the phone working on the .257 Scooter with Scootertrash. Kind of ironic that he goes of the same disease. Another great friend that I never got to meet face to face. Damn… RIP brother and save me the bench next to you in the big range. 😢

Very sorry to hear this. He was one of the kindest folks I've had the pleasure to chat with, comparing notes on a lot of things. I also wish we had met in person.

I don't say "RIP", I say "DIJ" - Dance In Joy. He's out of this rat race and the better for it. Goddess Bless him on the other side of the veil.

Yeah that. Just damn. Everyone here is at the age where losing friends is more common.

Unfortunately true.
I've heard death referred to as, "The debt we all must pay" and that's a fact.

It's just a fact of life. The trick is to make yourself remember the blessings of the good times (and appreciate them MORE while you're having them) as opposed to the pain of the loss. THAT is a personal choice.

JerryBobco is doing well. He recently posted on FB about an off-shore fishing trip.

He lost his wife a few months ago and has been in Texas for a few years now
