Range Report

Post by DanielChamberlain »

I lied.
I can't wait till I get back from Florida, so I took it to the range today.
So, a while back I bought a Canik MC-9 and after a little tweaking, got it feeding reliably and going bang when the trigger was pulled.
It's a pretty accurate little beast!
So, when the new Canik MC-9 Prime came out and all the reviewers were giving it great reviews, I thought, what the hell...
So, took it to the range today. Got the optic zeroed and ran a bunch of mags through it.
So, I don't know what kind of pussies are shooting guns now adays, but every one who calls the gun "snappy" are wusses! It's a sweet shooting platform!
50 rounds of ball and 50 rounds of 147 grain hollow points.
The trigger is interesting. There's a long, light pull to reach the let-off point, but then it goes bang without any creep. Reset is really quick.
Accuracy testing will have to wait for another day as the guy in the line next to me was shooting his AR and it was difficult to concentrate, but 3 inches off hand at 15 yards was the average.
All in all, I'm liking it a lot.

I’ve known a couple of people who have Caniks. None of them have anything bad to say, and most absolutely love them

Good score!

I took off the silly mag well flair. It just added a little extra and if someone has trouble inserting a tapered mag they won't do any better with a mag well flair.

Mines set up the same way! I concur with your conclusions. Great little pistol! My new carry piece!

Same experience here. I tried their guns when they first came on the market and was quite impressed. My son then became an "early adopter" and he has been very pleased with is purchase for a few years now. If I needed any more "modern hardware" for my inventory they would be a serious contender.
