Sure do. I haven't loaded anything that light for the 308 before. I have some 155 A max and some 150 speers. What powder are you using for those v max.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I have a clip on Thermal, but I have a savage Hog Hunter .308 doing nothing in the safe and I might put a dedicated thermal on it. Just feeling things out and trying to get the best direction before I start spending money. I like the features of that DNT.

The DNT is a clip on also. My experience was meh with it, but….my setup ain’t ideal. Just doing science.

Looks more compact than my AGM. I run it in front of a Vortex Viper PST 3-15. It can be front heavy with it installed.

You can’t run a thermal and a dot alone. Has to be magnified. The more magnification however, the worse it gets. That’s a 3x. I was running the thermal alone on that gun, but needed to get it set up for late deer season. Didn’t want to be swapping back and forth once the dot was zeroed. So, I just tossed it on to see what would happen. It works, but it ain’t ideal

I agree with everything CPJ says about thermals.

Most decent thermals are far better than any night vision. With thermals, once you look through a nice one, it’s over.

Technology has come a long ways. I have almost double in mine what CPJ has in that DNT. Mine is very clear. Rangefinder is awesome. But it’s way bigger and less versatile. His can be used as a monocular scanner, dedicated thermal sight and clip on in front of a LPVO. And has a great resolution thermal sensor. Forget what they all say about display resolution. Doesn’t matter. The thermal sensor is what makes the image. Not the display.

Having the rangefinder is a benefit. At night, looking at a TV screen in your scope, depth perception and range goes away unless you really know what you’re doing. Being able to range spots in the hunting area first, then range the target if you have time, makes a difference.
