Karma's a sunny beach (me and my big mouth)

Post by GrapeApe »

Wife got summoned for jury duty earlier this month (Her second time since we've been married). I HAD to open my mouth about the fact that at 60 years old, I'd never been tagged for it.

3 guesses what came in today's mail...

Yep, my summons for 1/12/26

Buy some magazines! Shooting times, G&A, Handgunner.... A man needs something to read while he's waiting

Three guesses what came in the mail?
AARP info.
Pizza coupons.
Bills.
What’d I win?

Well, with me possibly having treated some of the "suspects" during my year working at the jail, I'm hoping I'll get excused quickly.

I don't blame you. People have tried to accuse me of weaseling out of jury duty but it's not that. Although it's touted as the best in the world, our court system and process is an effing joke, there's zero benefits to miss work for having to be a juror and i don't trust a jury of my peers because people are stupid and biased.

Last time I was called in…

Judge: There is no valid excuse in my book to skip out of Jury Duty.

Me: GOOD! Cause I I can’t wait to send these sons’a’bitches to jail!!!

Judge: You’re excused…

My dad’s line was, “They wouldn’t be here unless they did SOMETHING that was worthy of jail”. He was usually dismissed too, and BTW he MEANT IT! 🤣

You know how I avoid jury duty? By wanting to be on a jury. I’ve been on one so far back when I was in my 20s, and it was some bullsqueeze civil trial.

I want to be on a jury, so I never get a summons

When I took my magazines in I was trying to get out of anything, I just wanted something to read and pass the boring time. I've been summoned 5 time and selected twice, one civil for three months and a criminal (murder) for three weeks.

Wife was just selected the week before and the week of Thanksgiving, she was wanting to move it so she would not have to be on a jury the week of Thanksgiving  , we had to convince her no judge or prosecutor was going to be working that week, she was not selected.
