I may or may not have bought another one...

Post by Zorba »

If I did, it would be a near duplicate of another gun I may or may not have. This might be a good, cheap, last ditch closet gun.

Palmetto had some stuff not to far out of that price range, a little Beretta

Personally, I'd prefer to dig my "last ditch" with a little more care. . . ;)

Not saying I haven’t almost bought a HiPoint just for giggles and to beat on…. But a PSA Dagger is not much more, and a much better “last ditch to dig”

Yeah no poop.
Or PSA has the Ruger ec9 right now for two Benjis.

fudge that high point pile of poop.
The carbines are pretty skookum.
The pistol not so much.

PSA has them for $130! How can you say no? There's a guy on the Hi-Point forum who says: "Hi-Points are like fat chicks. They'll eat anything you feed them, and bang whenever you want. But you still don't want your friends to see you with one."

Yeah that.
The hipoint I had did eat anything you fed it. As long as it was ball. 🙄

If you ever decide to use it during a crime and want to hold onto it and not throw it into a creek (preferably a river), I have a .348 chucking reamer that you can run down the barrel 🤣

I've considered getting one for kayaking.

And yet there's apparently a Hi Point forum where the "fat chicks" are on proud display.

I gotta respect the things for being WAY more functional than the Lorcins and Ravens of old, but given the current state of things, you can now buy a Tisas 1911 for the price of two Hi Points and have THE semi automatic handgun, and be able to afford to beat it around like THAT semi automatic handgun.

Agreed and if it was a Tisa vs. HP in a purchasing decision that reasoning makes a lot of sense to stretch and get the Tisa. But he already has the Tisa, so if he feels like throwing $130 at a HP for yucks, hell why not?

Because jumping dramatically through the air clad in a skirt with a 1911 in each hand for the creation of a Baliwood version of Last Man Standing is way cooler. Duh!

I paid almost twice the money for my last Hi-Point - but its a limited edition collector's version!

As ugly as Hi-Points are, I still think they look better - or at least no worse - than a Glock!

Now I'm not saying that I actually bought a second one, but it has come to my attention that PSA recently shipped one to my fave LGS...

Just for CPJ, the Hi-Point YC9 that has been ballyhooed for at least the last 4 years, has actually finally been released. One review of many:

I see you've gone out Hoggin again... nice moped ride, she'll serve you well. That is of course, if you may or may not have purchased it.

I think I now know why PSA was blowing them out at $129 - this was days before the YC9 "Yeet Cannon" (I *STILL* hate that name!) finally started shipping. Hi-Point sez that they're going to make both pistols in parallel, if for no other reason than for the Commiefornia market.
