I’m a sucker for a Ruger….
A while back I was cruising the shop and saw a blued 3” GP100 in 357 on the shelf. Upon inspection it looked almost new but had the old dark rosewood inserts. After a quick search it turns out to be made in 1989, yep 1989. I had to have at least think about it for a few days so I put it in the infamous “back room” of the shop. Yes I bought it. After getting it home I tore it apart and cleaned up the internals and added a new set of Wolff springs this this cleaned up amazing well! Love this little revolver. More to come tomorrow. Oh I had to add the stag inserts, just had to. The original grips are damn nice too, tough call. It came with compact grips as well as the ones I put on it. Oh, it didn’t have a drag line on the cylinder before I got my mitts on it.

You suck, I would have been out the door post haste with said gun.

NICE! Kind of considering one of those in stainless.
Not having handled one in a minute - QUESTION: Is the extractor rod long enough to kick a .357 case fully clear, or if not, how much is it short by?

GREAT SCORE!!! And the stags dress it up rather nicely.

Not quite, but if you hit it sharply they clear.

I LOVE this little revolver! It shoots very well for size. Our range is a bit on the muddy side right now so no targets just steel at 30 yards. With mag loads it hits POI, with 38’s it prints a bit lower. No biggie. The trigger is smooth and consistent. All in all a fun shooter!

Thanks! I recently looked at a 3" 686 Plus and it's about the same. Weighing options for someone who's lost a little bit of thumb dexterity for running 1911 safeties. The finer points of revolvering might come to matter in the discussion.

Nice score.
Having both GP100 (6") and 686 (4") I can assure you that neither has had an issue from the short ejector rod. The closest I can.to having and issue was when the GP was very dirty from shooting some .38s with dirty powder and then I threw a full house .357 in it. That case fought me slightly getting the ejector rod moving, but once it moved it came right out. Buy either or both and enjoy.

Put the factory grip panels back in it!
That isn’t a stag grip gun…
I’ve got a 6” GP100. Great find.

Nice pick up!
I have an FN Barracuda, and I've really come to like a 3" .357.
