Couple New Toys - Suppressors

Post by Zee »

Picked up two new suppressors this week.

Both Otter Creek Labs.
Big one is a 6.5cal Hydrogen for my hunting 6.5cal to .223 Rem. Quieter than my Surefire. My Hunting Partner will be pleased.
And a Titanium. For my .22LR, .22 Mag, 17 HMR, and .22 Hornet.

They will be a nice and quiet addition to the hunting fold.

The only thing NOT quieter than a surefire is a muzzle brake.

“But they are durable!”

Blah blah blah

At least now I now I can borrow a can if need be and not have to wear ear pro also.

My Surefire are ear safe. And, they will outlast this hydrogen, possibly. Either way, I don’t mind quiet-er.

You shut up. I told you to get a OcL. Not one of those SilencerCo cans the other Jackasses are shooting.

You got a dedicated 6.5 cal suppressor? Not a .30 cal?

You didn’t tell me that. At the time “I’m not buying a can.”
Just like a thermal, and a….well anything you dicks have made me buy.

I shot it when Chris and Joe were down a few weeks ago. It’s off getting threaded now.

Already have three .30cal suppressors. Wanted something closer to the smaller calibers.

And did you like it ?
Fun cartridge that does a lot more than it appears able.

Yes, I did. That’s why I decided to keep it and have it threaded to accept a suppresor.

Does it make that much of a difference?

Realizing that's what she said, I assume you compared the 7" and 9" versions? Any insight to offer other than the 9" is quieter?

Well, it’s a quieter suppressor than my Surefire Cans. And I wanted something better suited for my varmint cartridges.
But, you can get by with a .30cal can from .224 to .30 obviously. I was just going for quiet.

I wanted to balance quiet with mobility.

So you got the Hydrogen-S? Hard to judge length in the photo...

Yes, I got the S. The longer L model is quieter. But, would have blowback and be louder in gase gun chambers. I want to be able to run it on a .223 gas gun for pigs and varmints. So, I went with the mid length to accommodate gas guns, be shorter on bolt guns, and still be quieter than my Surefire cans on my smaller cartridges for varmints and pigs.
