something new Peak alloy

Post by Freezer »

While speaking with my nephew he told me of a new cartridge I did know of, 7 Backcountry. Federal developed it with a new steel alloy case,Peak Alloy, that is capable of 80,000 psi. in modern bolt action rifles. The case is reloadable.

Now federal is talking about using the new case technology for other cartridges like the 6.5 Creedmoor and may be offering cases for other cartridges.

I was just reading up on that. One thing I noticed is that it is NOT safe in all 6.5CM chambered rifles. That seems to be… an issue.

Another interesting link on the subject and I found the radius PXT rifling interesting too.
