Went to Perry warm up matches

Did OK,
First day was an 80 shot, did OK put up what is becoming my avg score

Dropped 3 in rapid, and the standing wasnt great, not bad for me, not my best. Thought I worked out 600 though.

Sat was abysmal. 80 shot again. I had a min of right wind on at 200 and was getting blown around standing. Rapid fire at 300 second string I sent my first round in my second magazine into target 93. I was on firing point 94, so that didnt help a lot.second string was 89 with 4x. I had between 5 and 6 moa of right wind on at 600.

50 shot on Sun I did OK, still windy but nothing like Sat. Standing caught a gust that pushed me into an right on call 6 to the left. Figured out that there were short lulls where it dropped off and shot a lot of German. Nein Nein Nein and for the last one the wind held and I held the rifle for a min plus, finally dropped a hard fought 8.
Had the first shot squirm in both rapids. Dropped down, lined up and yanked the trigger like it owed me money. Both 9s were right on call.
600,,, I dunno. I started with 2.4 R on and dropped an 8 to the left. Added 2 clicks and shot center. Having problems with the reticle melting into the target. Part of getting old I guess. Still, a 479 isnt anything to sneeze at. I am looking for 480s now though. Kinda like after you clean a stage, you expect it from then on.

1 min right means one MOA at 200 yards. Wind blowing me around means the gusts were strong enough that in the standing position it would push enough to shove the sight picture off the target by pushing my body and the rifle that far, then it let off a bit, AKA a lull.
Rapid fire at 200 means you have 60 seconds to shoot 10 rounds, in the 80 shot matches you start in position unloaded, mags on the ground hands off, and have one mag change.
Rapid fire at 300 means you have 70 seconds to shoot 10 rounds, in the 80 shot matches you start in position unloaded, mags on the ground hands off, and have one mag change.
5-6MOA right means that I adjusted my scope to hit 30-36 inches to the right at 600 yards as needed because the wind was from the right blowing the bullet back into the middle.

Gust pushing into a 6 means the wind hit me as I was squeezing the trigger and moved my sight pic directly to a 6 on the left side of the target, or about 15 inches from center.
Shooting like German means you are not shooting 10's but a lot of NIEN's which are bad, but Ocho no bueno. However if you shoot an 8 Bob Ross can come into play

Rapid, Start from standing magazine loaded into rifle on a closed bolt empty chamber in rapids. Same time restrictions and reload. chamber after your butt or an elbow is on the ground.

Pic. The guy with the black hat, white sweatshirt and salmon sunshirt is writing this. The ladies at CMP yelled at me because I called it pink, so its salmon. Dont care, they work.

Looks like national matches are going to be toasty though. I am shooting a 2400 agg Tues-Thurs and a 4 man team on Fri. Taking Sat and Sun off. Presidents on Mon, NTI Tues, wed off, NTT thurs, and NTIT Fri.

Looks like national matches are going to be toasty though. I am shooting a 2400 agg Tues-Thurs and a 4 man team on Fri. Taking Sat and Sun off. Presidents on Mon, NTI Tues, wed off, NTT thurs, and NTIT Fri.

MC team was always helpful and motivating. When they had a service rifle team, they would come up to Reade for a week who gave them the range until the weekend when there was a match. Some of the best tips that pushed me over the top came from Brandon Greene after he retired from the AMU scoring me at Camp Butner.
