I didn’t care for her music, as talented as she was. But I loved listening to her tell stories. And she was cool and the gang. Didn’t give a fudge about politics, stayed out of it. Or at least kept it to herself.

I have always loved how she played the ditzy blonde while being one of the sharpest marketing, business person in the room while writing and singing songs people loved. Taking away the politics and such, when COVID broke out she gave 1,000,000.00 cash towards finding a cure.

Going through 80 years of life and a lengthy Hollywood career without anyone having anything bad to say about you and not one scandal is quite the accomplishment.

Somewhat of a ghost thread, but I found this interesting and topical: The Nashville Airport Authority voted unanimously to rename Nashville International Airport in honor of Dolly Parton (exact new name TBD):

Additionally, American Airlines recoded their daily DFW-BNA (Nashville) flight to AA 925 in her honor:

Probably should have called it the Double DFW-BNA
