And the worlds smallest peckered cop award goes to!

Post by CPJ 2.0 »

This guy who shot the donkey who was “attacking” the officers. God I want them to pay dearly for this. Sue the poop out of the county and cops. Yes, I’m aware that the tax payers foot the bill. (Bill for the insurance increase anyway) Which will make the tax payers angry. Which imparts changes in leadership.

That's OK, it was vertical smartphone crap anyway.

No link to vid, or story.

Donkeys. . .yeah. We've got a pretty significant population of them in the outskirts/rural bits of our community. Because we're semi-arid, they come down off the mountains they live on to munch on the irrigated lawns (including mine) and such down in town. Had a couple nuzzle my hand. They're pretty chill if you're not stupid. While hiking on THEIR turf, I had an Alpha male position himself between me and his chillen and wimmenfolk when we were travelling in opposite directions on a heavily-brushed trail they couldn't easily get off of. He came up, sniffed my hand, and we were cool. Unfortunately, I've seen a few road-killed on the commuter paths and we've had a few stories of the cops or animal control having to put down ones that have been struck by vehicles.

Dunno... At the end of the day, they're a large (ish) wild animal living in close proximity to humans. I've recently started re-reading my Peter Capstick collection, and while you can't put a little burro on the same level as the African Big Five (plus hippos, crocs, poisonous snakes, etc...), where homo sapiens and critters intersect, you're gonna have stories of territorial conflict and protection of young. Escalation to the point of having to drop the hammer on one? Unlikely, but I could see it.

That said, I'd rather have the burros than most of the people. Typically, the burros are far less of an ass. ;)
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.
