That is a 2 1/2” security six 357 we found at a local shop. Yeah it’s a thing to behold. Re: Ruger Picture Thread!
I don't collect guns, I have tools that fill a niche. I've owned at least 5 SBHs through the years and a few Security Six's . I settled on a S&W Mountain pistol as my OS hunting gun for northern Ca. Since I no longer live there, I sent it to somebody that does. The only one left is a Ruger Security Six that I love. Hogue grips and Wolfe springs. After four right shoulder surgeries I figured LE knew something about how to carry a gun. This is Monrovia Ca. holster. It is a hunting short range, back up and HD piece.
The Single Six was the first handgun I ever shot as a kid and I had to have one! I bought this one used on layaway. The holster was a thank you from the LGS and has a great story. It has no name and it custom. I have both cylinders and Wolfe spring in it, The guns is more accurate than me. Again I like the low ride with my shoulder.
I bought a 1022 because my BIL's friends, who had more money than brains, were buying SKSs and mini 14's when they and ammo were cheap. All I had was a Rem 514. I could out shoot them but there weren't too many cans left for me to shoot at. It was the first new rifle I had bought and with four 30 round mags, I could out shoot and out firepower them on the target hill. Again, with Wolfe springs and some work it has been a great squirrel gun. It had a scope and will again soon.
The MKII came about much the same way, second hand from the LGS. The fools were buying Makovs and cheap semi auto pistols. The only thing I had was a New Army PB Kit revolver I had bought for $25 and built. Again with four mags I out shot them and out fire powered them. I added Wolfe springs and Hogue grips. It is very accurate to 75 yards and has put many squirrels on the table. I've bought a few MKs and standard models through the years but this one remains in the stable.
After a few hours of shooting the fools would complain about how much they'd spent on ammo. I shouted "Holy sh!T! I went through 500 rounds, an entire brick! That cost me ...$20 bucks... get me another brick!"
I love my 22s!

Ruger has zero debt but had to shake a take over bid and buy Marlin in the past few years
My guess they are gonna concentrate on low cost 4in plastic 9mm semi autos.
Building revolvers and precision rifles requires precision machining and a high skill workforce.
I dont believe for an instant Ruger is folding

Re: Ruger Picture Thread!
The Ruger “precision” rifle was an American in a mediocre chassis that they should have been ASHAMED to ask $1100 for. The gen 1 was an embarrassment. They SHOULD have discontinued it. Which they did. But anyway, don’t let marketing wank make you believe it’s a “precision” rifle.Japhy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2026 11:25 pm Ruger has zero debt but had to shake a take over bid and buy Marlin in the past few years

I don't know about that. Mine chambered in 6mm CM shoots 0.2" groups with factory Hornady ammo. One can certainly say the ergonomics and what not are lacking but the accuracy / precision is definitely there.CPJ 2.0 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2026 11:41 pmThe Ruger “precision” rifle was an American in a mediocre chassis that they should have been ASHAMED to ask $1100 for. Oh I’m sure Ruger won’t fold but they sure are racing to the bottom. Sigh.
Re: Ruger Picture Thread!
Not saying they don’t shoot. I’m saying the three I handled were made by the SPED kids on a Friday afternoon. When you run a bolt and it feels and sounds like a zipper, you should be ashamed for letting it out of the factory. I’m not paying over a grand for a bolt that operates like a fat chick wearing corduroy pants.jkp wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 1:09 amI don't know about that. My Covid era (no excuse) Gen one was also an embarrassment. Enough I had a phone call with the plant folks. I had it fixed loooooong before they finally got back to me. When shards of metal fall out of the rifle….there’s issues.
