New Member Intro.
I thought this the best forum to check in on first. I've moved over from Modernsportsman. I used my proper name there and some will remember me as Mike form England. I've decided to use a pseudonym here and will Log in as T'owd Mon. That is local Derbyshire dialect for The Old Man. Being from Derbyshire I thought that appropriate. Anyway, I am currently semi retired and working as a River Keeper and look after about five miles of prime trout fishing and some lakes for a private landowner. A job I have been doing for 19 years following a 30 year career in the Police. My hobbies, apart from fishing are collecting sporting guns of all types from muzzle loaders to breech loaders, collecting cartridges and shooting related ephemera. I shoot clays and game and also go deer stalking plus shooting certain pests as part of my job along the river and lakes. I also work two hunting dogs which are Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. I did have three but lost the oldest on earlier this year. I hope to get another pup early next year to bring on. That's just a short introduction and I have a wide range of other interests.
I hope to be active in this site after being one of the first members of the old Modern Sportsman site and as soon as I get a photo hosting site worked out I should be able to post some interesting photos of various guns and stuff from my collection. Previously I did a fortnightly posting on M.S. called 'From the Gunroom' there were over 100 postings but the site sort of dwindled and my only remaining fan was Freezer (Ron) on this site. T'owd Mon.....

Welcome aboard! We'll toast with a cold one...................er maybe a warm one! How 'bout a pint!!
Re: New Member Intro.
Welcome aboard Mike, glad you finally made it. I think you'll find posting pictures isn't too difficult but if you need help just let someone know and we'll get it sorted out. Even if you have to email them to someone, including me, those pics will get posted on here.
BTW, thanks again for letting us use the MS forum as a lifeboat as the G&A forum sank beneath the murky cyber depths.

Welcome Mike! Enjoyed your photos on the other forum! Looking forward to your input over here.

Many thanks for the welcome. I did use two different photo hosting sites before but they have closed down. Castle, I may take you up on that but if someone can recommend a hosting site that is user friendly (read that as one designed for the no so computer proficient) with full explanation; I'll soon get the hang of it. T'owd Mon.....

Another welcome and another thanks for the use of the MS lifeboat. The G&A Apocalypse would have been far more hectic without that.

Welcome! I have been meaning to write up a detail on how to do photos, but haven’t done it yet.
It won’t happen today either. Too busy… but I’ll get it done soon!

Welcome Mike.
I can post pictures easier here.
So I'll post one from across the pond to help you feel at home.
