Solar panels?

Post by jbp-ohio »

I am looking for solar light to put on carport. This has the features I want...

However..... All of the cheap China lights we've bought, the solar panels turn white in just a few months.

Who (brand) has a panel that will last?

I find it mildly disturbing that their remote control is shaped like a smartphone. Kind of like pop ups on eBay and other sites have become recently.

Smart phones are a thing. Everyone but you has one. Get used to it, it is what looks right to 99.919% of Americans under the age of 80.

Ahhh. You were wanting just a solar light. Not a panel setup.
We have one, 80% of the LEDs are NFG, but still works. Was cheap as chips too.

I'll have to try to find the solar light we have on our porch. It's bright, has different modes and has been there for at least 4 years.

Yes. One that the panel won't turn hazy. This will up 12'...... not going to go up and clean once a month like the ones on our deck

I don't have one either. I prefer using smoke signals...

We have quite a few solar lights around the ranch and some have remotes like that but in actuality, they are much smaller than a cell phone. So you have issues with things that are rectangular and have buttons. Did you ever consider therapy?

One thing I will point out is that if you go with really high wattage lights, they're bright and cool if you have clear skies every day. I've got an 85 watt one in our parking area that lights up a pretty good area and will work three days without sunlight. The real high wattage ones only work one night.

I am looking for motion lights. We have a LED security light on our electric pole. It was bright enough but now the carport will shade the cars. Don't want any 'Cat' burglers under my truck.

These are the ones we have. They've been trouble free for years now and they're bright.

I'm also pretty pissed. After looking at my stick of Old Spice deodorant, I realize it looks like a smart phone. When will the insanity end?

I just realized that all the cards in my wallet are shaped like small smart phones. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Laugh it up! ;)

I just find smartphone shaped pop-up dialog boxes - complete with rounded corners - to be insulting to my intelligence. This pandering to the lowest common denominator disgusts me - who do the website designers think they're fooling?

Got one of these somewhat cheap. Smaller than I thought it would be. Mounted it dead center. Not very bright but it was only in the sun for a couple hours. See how it does tonite after a day of sun.

I think every light I ever bought on Amazon was way smaller than I thought it would be.
