Technology making it easy.....
While away on our recent trip I set up the small Infiray thermal camera and tablet in our accommodation.
Put a bait station approx 70m away that could be overlooked from the house, rigged a driveway alert over the bait to signal the presence of pests like wild cats/possums with the receiver unit in the kitchen, mounted the thermal camera on the deck with a 3m lead into the house to my tablet which we mounted on the wall in the sunroom near Juniors bed. Set the whole thing up when we arrived at 5pm.......
30mins after sundown the alert went off, a quick glance at the tablet screen clearly showed a wild cat, I slowly opened the door onto the deck, Bh chambered a round into my T1x 17HMr fitted with the Pulsar thermion Pro XP50 and crumpled the cat on the spot....
Here is a pic of the tablet showing the 'killing' zone.... And here is a pic of the cat For the following nights, when a 'visitor' arrived, the alert would go off, Junior only had to open his eyes to see what triggered it from his bed, and if it was a target species, roll out of bed, pick up my T1x open the door and shoot. He accounted for 2 more wild cats and 5 possums over the next few nights.
Aint technology marvellous!

That works, might be the ticket in the deer stand for those afternoon naps

Well, ain’t you FANCY!!!
Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can see.
Re: Technology making it easy.....
Can't you rig up a motorized tripod so no one needs to get out of bed?
Re: Technology making it easy.....
In that case the optional extra might be handy........we have the ability to wire the gate alert to a dog electric shock collar. (Removes the sound of the gate alert from the system)
Just set up the camera/tablet and gate alert, put the collar around your neck and go to sleep. Be careful though, dont sleep with your finger on the trigger......
Re: Technology making it easy.....
BTW, forgot to add to the original post that the camera uses very little battery life on the tablet. It was dark by 5,45pm and sun up was just after 6am. we could get 3 full nights out of the tablet in normal operating mode. ( could prob get more by going into power save mode).....And......you can take videos and still shots just by swiping the tablets screen etc...
