That is great news! And these rulings have wider implications.
Thanks for posting, the news don’t tend to cover bad legal news for the Biden Administration.

The most important thing is that it sends a message that no matter if you’re a Cheetoh headed ego maniac attempting to ban bump stocks , or a white headed probable stroke victim attempting to ban braces, YOU don’t get to make your own rules by using lapdog agencies to do your dirty work all while circumventing the rule of law.

Agreed, and I’m highly interested in seeing how it applies to other non-gun “parts”. The premise that a short barreled gun is no more threat as a crime tool than any other gun is interesting and could spell the demise of the whole SBR BS.CPJ 2.0 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 8:57 pmMuch wider.Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 7:07 pm That is great news! This video better explains this latest ruling, and it lacks the typical gun tuber. Wanker is that the previous video had even though it wasn’t horrible

Maybe, but I'm not holding my breath. Given that the SBR/SBS rules were passed because Prohibition Era gangsters were cutting down BARs and shotguns and concealing them in cars and under overcoats, I would be very surprised if the "no more threat to crime" argument holds water to a lot of folks. We'll ignore the fact that SBR laws are silly and most gun control implementations aren't followed by a reduction in homicide.Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 2:20 amAgreed, and I’m highly interested in seeing how it applies to other non-gun “parts”. Re: Good news on braces.
All this good news!
And now this:
July 2023 marked the 48th consecutive month of gun sales exceeding 1 million!
Think about that for a bit there are about 330 million people in the US ok more than that have been added over the past few years but 48 million is a significant portion of that and that’s just the past 4 years! One would think we have achieved critical mass!
Here is an excerpt from a recent AWR Hawkins article in Breitbart:
This is a remarkable milestone of four continuous years of over 1 million background checks for the sale of a firearm. That’s no small achievement and is indicative of the strong and sustained appetite for law-abiding Americans to take ownership of their Second Amendment rights. It also shows the resilience of the firearm and ammunition industry to meet this continued demand for high-quality firearms that today’s gun owner expects.
This milestone was achieved in the midst of the continuous attacks by the Biden administration which has demonstrated nothing but contempt for the Second Amendment and has twisted the levers of government to impede the ability of law-abiding citizens to legally possess firearms of their choosing. Americans are sending a clear signal each and every month. The Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms is not up for negotiation.”

Re: Good news on braces.
All you have to do is show the % of crimes committed with long guns including cut down shotguns and rifles that amount to statistic insignificance. In front of this SCOTUS that should do.shotgunshooter3 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 3:57 pmMaybe, but I'm not holding my breath. Re: Good news on braces.
Thanks for sharing, great video and I just downloaded the full decision. It is indeed great news for gun owners in general and a swift kick in the cojones to the Biden administration and their politicized pawns at the ATF.
Yes long but I’d consider it a must watch if you own one of these. BTW membership in the FPC is free and you can contribute any time, any $$$ you want.

Re: Good news on braces.
I think I will be looking into joining the FPC. Great news.
Some observations.
1. I have been politically active since roughly 2000.
We have not had a single politician Rep, Sen, or President that has been truly pro gun, or that has made a true effort to get rid of the NFA and or expand our gun rights. It took private citizens and a private entity to possibly make it happen through the courts. The last two Republican Presidents? One said he would gladly sign a new AWB. The other said he was for taking guns first, and for worrying about rights later. He also used the ATF in this exact manner to outlaw bump stocks. We have had two instances of republican congressional majority, and a republican President. They did nothing. The burden should fall to those we elect to protect our rights. The court should be the last resort. This should never have had to happened.
2. Where is the NRA in all of these gun right battles taking place? Crickets anyone.
3. Any Fudd that has the attitude that I do not use a particular gun related item , so therefore the ATF can do what it wants with them can get bent many times over.

Most on here know I am not a trump lover but he did some things that were great. His judicial appointments have for the most part been the only thing we have to support us. He did change policies of the epa but Biden of course changed them back.
Re: Good news on braces.
Pistol braces are legal again, until they aren’t.
The dumbass Trump inspired (IE executive action, just like bump stocks…those enforcing laws don’t get to make them) AFT “rule” got smacked down, again, but this time it’s nationwide and for anyone who owns one.

I wonder if someone will try to translate this to SBRs. Hell there is little (if any) technical difference.

Re: Good news on braces.
Doubtful. This was struck down because the ATF violated separation of powers and Congressional acts related to how these rules can be passed. The 5th Circuit avoided actual Bill of Rights ruling, per instructions of SCOTUS.Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 1:08 am I wonder if someone will try to translate this to SBRs. This is in line with SCOTUS's own history of tending to strike or uphold rules based on how the same rules were made, not the substance of said rules.
SBRs were regulated by Congress, which is within their power to do as the legislature. The rulings state that the rules on braces and 80% frames/receivers are solely within the purview of the legislature, not an executive branch agency, so any rule on that has to come from Congress. That's the root. Not whether the rules in question violate the Second Amendment.

Does anyone know how to unburn a brace?
Re: Good news on braces.
Soak it in water, it will reconstitute

Damn I just took the offending brace off the tube….

What brace? Did I say I had a brace?
Re: Good news on braces.
If I had one, I would have converted it to a rifle by now. But, I'm a pac rat and keep stuff
