Uncle Sugar halts guns and ammo exports

Post by Justsomedude »

I just heard about this about a half hour ago. Seems that they are doing this for at least 90 days but the question is why? Upcoming war in the Middle East, Russia, China, within?

I honestly wish all of the firearm and ammo manufacturers would get together and deny sales to the government. It would hurt at first, but...

"The Commerce Department did not provide further details for the pause, which also includes shotguns and optical sights, but said an urgent review will assess the "risk of firearms being diverted to entities or activities that promote regional instability, violate human rights, or fuel criminal activities."

I wonder if ammo will become a little more available for a few months?

If they keep supplies here, I'm guessing it won't be for "us."

No arms, ammunition, magazines, optics erc. to Israel or Ukraine? Or is that so we can not sell to anyone, but GIVE to them?

It's exports of civilian firearms and ammo. Governments and Allies are exempted.

Even so, I wonder why? Something like that doesn't come down the pike everyday. I wonder if they're expecting something.

Oh, I have no clue. I was just pointing out that military arms exports aren't being affected.

Well, if legal battles on constitutional grounds say an anti-gun administration can't shut down the industry within its own borders, it can make efforts to cripple the ability to make money by selling outside its own borders. This is commercial sales only, so we're talking hunting rifles & shotguns, revolvers, and autoloaders not being produced for any kind of governmental contracts. This may mean more Rugers, S&Ws, Remingtons, etc... on the domestic market in the short term, but I can't see how it's anything other than harrassment.

Consider the source: this is the crowd that labels firearms as a medical/national health problem, and no doubt the report of their "urgent review" will indeed state that they do indeed cause a host of maladies such as baldness, impotence, psoriasis, and cancer.
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.
