It's Halloween, what's your most unlikable movie archetype?

Post by Castle »

For me, it's the horror movie that can be resolved in 3 seconds if the protagonist only had a gun.

Movies like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre or any of the Friday the 13th movies and many of the Halloween franchise.

So what horror movies grind you guys the wrong way?

Gotta love those zombie movies 🤣

Not clear why you'd deliberately watch a movie that grinds you the wrong way, let alone watch the sequel, but your point does illustrate why Aliens is the perfect horror film:

The protagonists not only had guns, they had LOTS of guns. When 10mm explosive-tip caseless, 30mm grenades, and flamethrowers aren't solving your problem, it's truly a nightmare.

And the REAL monster was a corporate sleaze. It was the first thing I saw Paul Reiser in, and I can't watch him in anything else because of this.
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

Jason has been shot multiple times and he doesn't die, so a gun really wouldn't solve the problem of him.
9mm kills the body, but .45 ACP destroys the soul!

He hasn't been hit "properly" yet.

Some of my "patients" have been shot multiple times as well (in real life), and they ain't dead yet either. :o

One proudly announces he's been shot 10 times and has the scars to back it up

Well this Halloween I’m watching the World Series. I hope it’s not a horror show.

Let's just say alcohol and pork rinds where involved 🤣

Sometimes, I end up watching whatever crappy movie the family members want to watch and, yeah, it can be pretty bad.

Although, some of the older horror movies from the 70's and 80's held fast to the 3 B's and those can be fun to watch also.

Nobody ain't shot the Tall Man yet...

Don't think it would do much good.

BOOOOYYYY!!!!!

The best part of that franchise is the Tall Man's ability to get inside you head... if he gets in there and distorts your own reality, we'll, to steal a line from Mr. Miyagi, "No can defense." Not to mention, he had the best toys!

Let's not forget those lovable hounds from Dog Soldiers...

Shoot them all you want and they just get more pissed at you. Fun times getting ripped apart. 😃
