Christmas morning, 1977. Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. There was a TV on the wall.... in 3 months never turned on. On Christmas day our Senior Drill Instructor gave us the choice of going out for more drill, or watching TV. To a man we opted for TV. THE SDI said, "Okay, assume the position in the classroom". (This meant cross-legged on the tile floor in the empty end of the barracks). We sat there for 4 hours watching that TV. He never turned it on.
