They're shutting in down Ron. No reason just speculation but rumor has it they're just being a bunch of buttheads. My opinion but probably something to do with bean counters.

Glad to see you made it and making progress on your shop, Ron.

About the only real thing going on with mine is, I finally ordered my HVAC for it. I ordered a 3 ton Bosch mini split setup. While it might not keep my shop at 68 degrees when it’s 105 out, I’m sure it’ll make it nice in there. Gotta get it installed and running before humidity hits here. I’m also going to be installing two ceiling fans, which I’ve talked about for months and haven’t done.

My portable evap cooler was working fine until it started hitting 105 to 109 here this past week. It’s a bit warm in the shop, although still a little cooler than outside. But that won’t work anyway once it gets humid. And I have to have a door open for it, which fills the shop with mosquitoes. So, refrigerated air it is…

I have been picking up deals for the shops as I see a good one Still trying to get the hang of this new forum with small type .
Found a Ingersoll Rand 80 gal. compressor for shop 3 last weekend at an auction .
It's an old girl but works great.
Also picked up a furnace & A.C. for shop 3 .
Things are going slow but I am happy with how it is going . ( I don't work so fast now days ! )
Next I need to build stairs to the second floor in shop 3 . I haven't done that in many years !
Once I get the main floor all framed in I can get back to wiring . I only have about a dozen outlets in so far but at least it's going .

Jay, if you haven't installed any yet: The roof mounted rotating vents make a huge difference with Temps. They draw out all of the hot air up top and keep air circulating.

Spent the day cutting 16' stringers yesterday .
A 2 x 12 16' long is a lot for a old fella to lug around .
The humidity is going up so with the heat it means short days at shop 3 .
Getting the first floor framed in takes time .
Still can't get this to show larger type ...... I think my computer hates me !

Looking good, Ron. Damn nice looking work.

Been over 100 degrees here for over 2 weeks straight now. 103 to 108 for highs. Supposed to be 105 or higher the rest of the week. And humidity finally set in. Definitely know what you mean about getting stuff done in the mornings.

Been working on getting my HVAC system installed in my shop to help me keep working in the heat and humidity. 36,000 BTU (3 ton) Bosch mini split system. It’s installed and nearly running. Gotta wait for a buddy to come out Saturday to vacuum and leak test before we power it up and let the refrigerant go…

That looks great Jay !
I bought a furnace & a.c. a while back but probably will not get it in this year .

With shops 3 & 4 not fully insulated yet it really gets hot in there .
Shop 2 is insulated well & I go there to work when it gets to bad in the big shop .
I did that yesterday until 5 p.m. & it was nice in there with a fan going .I managed to run 220 for my compressor in there so that will be nice to have done . The wiring in there is a mess so will take some time to figure out what I did years back in there .
The shops are pulling together slow but sure .

Not a shop, but it is where I do all of my heavy thinking/planning.... Third try at this stupid floor. You look at these planks sideways and the tabs crack. Have to put a screw in the end of each row or it all slides.

Looks like you got it J .
A guy need a relax place ...... maybe several relax places . :D
I did a few floors like that & they can be a pain .
I had foam sheet under mine & a plastic tool to hammer on to lock them in .
The thicker boards I used a angle nailer . Those floors always look nice .The floating floors are way easier to tear up

Throne room done. On to next project. Going to be a bitch. 25x20 carport. Have a garage under the house but will never get a car in there. There was never a driveway and it's just to $$$$$ to do now. We have a 24x24 concrete pad. Just going to cover it. Basically this but no block wall.

Priced out the lumber and lumber has come down some. Wife wanted 8x8 Fir posts. Priced out North of $3500. Cedar tone pine it is. Almost a 1/3 of that....

That looks like a good project !
Same here on the lumber cost .
But still to high for big projects .
With people saying our money will be worthless soon a guy wonders if he shouldn't spend it while he can .
It's a crazy world out there & anybody's guess what's going to happen .
Hard enough to hang on to money let alone just spend it .
The bigger lumber around here is still high but the small stuff is coming down .
The quality is really bad on most of it so it takes a long time to sort out some good ones .
