New stools for the new blinds. Put batteries, timers, and corn in the new feeders as well. IMG_1583.jpeg
IMG_1584.jpegIMG_1586.jpegIMG_1587.jpeg
Ordered some “blackout” fabric for the windows. Still have one more feeder to fix and a blind to build.
Comfortable enough, but not so much you sleep

Daughters boyfriend will be bowhunting with us this year, as well as my daughter. Im having more fun watching them get excited than anything. He has never shot a deer in his life. He PUMPED at the pics we are getting. Its neat watching my kid teach him what I have taught her. Hes a good kid. The only one shes dated that I would feel bad about feeding to the hogs if I ever had to.

That's really neat. Guy my daughter dated, I didn't care for much. Fast forward to today I like him, even call him son in law.

How far away do you place a blind like that from water and feeder?

3 blinds are 100 yards away from the feed. One blind is 50 yards (for kids or handgun hunting) and the new feeder above is 75 yards from the blind.
While several of the blinds have the capability of providing long shot opportunities, I try to keep the hunters closer to the feeders. I never know their capability. Hell, I had one hunter (80 year old) miss a buck last year at 75 yards.

Boy was I wrong . Thought you would say something like drop them at 300 or so then move closer over time.

Ha!
I have options. Depending on the hunters desire and ability. JBOhio hunted with me two years ago and took one doe at 40 yards with a revolver and the next day we set up for a 300 yard shot he took with a rifle.
I aim to please.

After a 2 year sabbatical from bird hunting, my “Young Man” still has what it takes. I am blessed with the opportunity and location to hang out with my son. For this blessing, I thank God and my friend.

Got my fields planted. Right at 14 hours of running time on the tractor to get them cleared, tilled, fertilized and seeded.

These 2 are the same fields I normally plant

And this is a new one. Kind of small ~1500 sqf, Might hunt it with handguns, haven't decided yet.

Pic is from about where I plan on putting a "quickie blind" AKA 4 2x4s and some camo material. Tilled area is ~20' wide by 75' long
Already has some hoof prints in the soft ground
There's a small, wet weather creek just off to the right of it, and a couple of LARGE oaks not far from it.

@Shotgunshooter3 will recognize the 3rd pic, he's hunted that field before
