I want to thank Zee for letting us come down and spend some time hunting and shooting. He put in a ton of hard work getting us on game... then a ton more after the kill... cleaning, skinning, and butchering. I don't care what you say about him, but Zee is a great dude and I am proud to call him a friend!
The boy? His first and only kill on game was when he was 14. He shot a nice whitetail doe in Jbohio's back yard (thanks Joe!). So these were kills 2-8 on his big game resume. Zee is one hell of a teacher and mentor, and walked him through everything beautifully. He even executed a synced shot on pigs perfectly... those two shots together were indistinguishable! I was very pleased to see my son make outstanding shots plus demonstrate the maturity and judgement to NOT make shots that he didn't feel 100% comfortable with. Lots of people believe that hunting is about the shots you make. I would argue that more importantly, it is about the ones that you don't take... you can't call those bullets back!
Nicolai should walk away from this experience with a higher degree of confidence in his abilities as a hunter and shooter. For that, I owe Zee a deep debt of gratitude.
Thanks again buddy!

A little Skunk Patrol last night. The French Model was none too keen I was taking so long to take the picture. Oops.

Did you show the French Model the finer points of skinning and cooking a skunk?

My clothes still smelled like skunk the next day.. And notice how Zee didn’t post a picture of the one he shot? I didn’t make him pose with his. And take my sweet azz time..
But, the skunks definitely need to be thinned out. There’s a bunch of them.

Still wearing shorts and sandals… of course.
Meanwhile, I’m wearing a Tshirt, flannel shirt, light North Face jacket and vest. It wasn’t crazy cold. But I won’t be the cold guy..
The rare and elusive Jack-O-Yote.. Sometimes they’re in the right place at the wrong time..

Shouldn’t have looked like a yote when 4 other yotes were coming in.

Fret not. Pig Fest is in a few weeks. Pig killing, varmint killing, and fun shenanigans.
