Anybody ever know what happened to Roadking? I think that was his handle on G&A. I'm curious if he ever launched that ridiculous rocket motor I sent him. Should put him in low earth orbit

A guy brought in his dad's colt Anaconda that he bought brand new in the 70's? I think. The barrel had been severely crooked to the frame (off to the left) since he bought it. He sent it back to colt a few months ago who tried to change the diameter of the threads to straighten it after retightening it which obviously wouldn't work but they did strip the shìt out if the threads.
I found the frame was machine crooked by .008 on the one shoulder so I corrected that and then machined off the barrel tenon threads to lessen the diameter and rethreaded that to the same pitch. So now I have to machine out the frame threads, rethread it and make a threaded sleeve/insert for my new barrel and frame thread diameters.
It took me quite a bit of brain power to figure out how the hell I was gonna fixture this frame but it works! Oh, that's a temporary threaded plug I made to indicate the frame.
I found the frame was machine crooked by .008 on the one shoulder so I corrected that and then machined off the barrel tenon threads to lessen the diameter and rethreaded that to the same pitch. So now I have to machine out the frame threads, rethread it and make a threaded sleeve/insert for my new barrel and frame thread diameters.
It took me quite a bit of brain power to figure out how the hell I was gonna fixture this frame but it works! Oh, that's a temporary threaded plug I made to indicate the frame.

If it's an Anaconda, it was built in the 90s. Early ones were known for poor accuracy because of barrel issues.

Some careful indicating of the frame reference surfaces and then facing the front of the frame in the lathe. Painful to think of something from that area as "classic," "old," or... gasp... "antique." Especially if you were alive back then.

Well i finally got to get on the Anaconda again (there's a joke in there somewhere). I got the sleeve made and threaded and in place with green loctite. It has a 4500psi sheer strength and I know it's more than adequate from previous experience. Tomorrow I'll index the barrel and recut the cylinder gap.
