Try some Federal Fusions.

I don't mean to sound like a smart a$$, Did you check for copper fouling from the previous owner? Mine took a lot of cleaning before I got it to shoot well.

Did not seem that bad.

I know you abhor round nose bullets..... but some 100 grain ones may lead you in the right direction.

And, I have 10rnds of 85gr Sierra HPBT-GK left over from my CVA Scout Pistol. They chambers in this rifle as well. I’ll try them too.

Not to mention, two boxes of these on my shelf to try.

With the longer bearing surface they would most likely perform well.

I’d be curious. I’d wager the RN are shorter, (length, not bearing surface) cause they ain’t pointy. Shorter equals better for a slow twist barrel.

I give those Sciroccos about a 75% chance of flying straight. The ones I've seen are rather long for their weight.

Weight, in and of itself, has zero to do with the twist needed to stabilize a bullet. It's all about the length. In some cases, the same bullet weight, with a boattail will be unstable, while a flat base will fly fine.
That's also why solid copper bullets require a faster twist than a cup and core.

I can't imagine the twist a solid aluminum bullet of a "standard weight" would take, considering how long it would be.

The well known greenhill formula doesn't even factor in a bullet's weight per se, only its diameter, length, specific gravity and velocity

Playing with an online Greenhill calculator. @ 3000FPS a 1" long .243" cup and core should be stable from a 1:11" twist. Adding 0.125" drops the called for twist to 1:9"

edited to add: the specific gravity also makes more difference than I thought. changing nothing but the SG from the standard 10.9 for a cup and core bullet to copper's 8.75 changes the required twist to 1:10. Going to Aluminum's SG of 2.7 changes the twist to 1:5"

Old 99’s can still get the job done. My Dad shot this doe today with his 99 with tang sights……
