The past 2 years the AC system has been having a hard time keeping up. I always replace the filter and even used the shop vac on the evaporator coil. I'm not sure what made me think to clean the condenser but we've lived here since 2016 and it's never been done.

Went outside, pulled the breaker thingamajig and removed the top cover. Drug out the garden hose and got to spraying from the inside out. It didn't look too bad UNTIL I started spraying. That fugger was about fully plugged up with crap. I cleaned it until water flowed out throughout the whole coil. Did the reverse order of operations and am pleasantly surprised that the temp dropped 3° in about 15 minutes. It's never been able to keep up with whatever temp we have it set to but does now.

Nobody ever really teaches you how to be a home owner. I usually figure it out after whatever it is racks up to an expense and costs me parts and labor.

Make sure the mower blows the cuttings away from the a/c
Had a disaster a few years ago when the mower hit a small rock which went thru an aluminum condenser coil.
