No cards. No gifts. Both of our birthdays are in May. We decided our family vacation later this month would be enough.

We pretty much buy what we want anyway.

Yep, you eventually get to the point that if you need,or just really "want" something, you've either already got it, or you just go buy it.
The wife and I do have a limit where we normally tell the other how much we're about to spend, but even if we forget, it's no big deal.

Though medical bills have currently slowed down the acquisitions of "wants" a little bit.

Had to spend FOUR DOLLARS AND TWENTY NINE CENTS on a freaking anniversary card tonight. Didn’t get to the dollar general before it closed. I’m pissed. That’s like, a whole year worth of cards for ONE lousy card.

Thank God my wife is in agreeance about Hallmark Holidays and even birthdays. You only get one in reality and too many of them is the leading cause of death world wide. Why the hell would I want to celebrate that

When my Stepson and his wife got their deposits back from their rental in Atlanta, they had gravel put in the drive for mothers day.

Que torrential rain and we have a river coming right to the garage doors. Two oak leaves on the floor drain and we have a (minor) flood in basement. No damage but just a pain in the ass getting dry before it smells.

Putting in drain pipe and a basin.

Charlie is not a big proponent of personal space...

First homemade ice cream of the summer.

What flavor? My first was a blood orange sherbet with shaved dark chocolate. My wife over churns it a little to give it a light buttery flavor. Next we'll make rum raisin.

This one was chocolate.

My father in law told me one time he had a hand crank for this freezer. I’d like to get it and make my sons and nephews take turns like I used to do

Nice to make your mix, cool it in the fridge then pour it in the machine and turn it on.
