Well… the whole “school bus as a ranch cabin” fell apart. But I am now a ‘proud(?)’ owner of a local county’s surplus SWAT van.

This is actually set up better for a camping cabin. Has a generator pre-installed, wired for 110AC, has benches that can be beds, dual A/C units running off generator, and does not require a special license.

Dang, that is cool, what is the motor and drive train in that? Is it armored?

Not armored, but it has a triton V-10 and dailies on the rear, so it should be able to pull a house.

That’s BADASS. And will be much better for a camper than a bus.

Nice, you in some tactical gear and some police lights in the grill and the wife would be getting "pulled over" and tossed in the back

Love it. I got on a kick of watching people turn small trailers into campers. Apparently there's a huge return on investment since the whole van life, tiny home, living out of a camper thing has really blown up. I still plan on building myself one, eventually.

I would thoroughly wash and disinfect those benches before sleeping on them. The number of sweaty buttholes and sacks that sat on those?…

While I’ve been researching this for a while, I kinda got into that vein of researching cabins, tiny homes, van life, etc… that why I jumped on this one. It’s pretty much ready to go as is.

One of the few bonuses of being married to an borderline germophobe/ OCD woman is that this thing will be spotless in short order.

Wish this was all I had to do today.

True statement. The only downside to that is how long it takes her to make a dinner with chicken or any other raw meat. She will wash her hands every single time she has to touch it. No cross contamination, at all. I think she's convinced that all raw meat (and eggs) has salmonella

Picked up the SWAT van and drove it about 30 miles. A/C doesn’t work, and the generator cranked but would not start. So it needs some work… but it’s going to be awesome.

Lots of “stuff” in the lockers under the benches. Gas mask parts, targets, maps, notes on seized evidence…. And a popped flashbang The flashbang was in the back, and the pin and spoon were in the drivers side footwell. Made me think driver popped the pin and tossed it in the back. LOL

Oof. Any damage to the house?

Cracked three pieces of siding and pulled the gutter down a bit. Maybe 4"? Missed the deck by inches. Crushed the bird feeder hanging on the deck.

Yeah those of us in Ohio have gotten hammered by storms. The flash floods around here have been unreal. Of course I pulled down my gazebo and it rains for 5 days straight so I get to look like white trash with a busted gazebo roof laying in my backyard

Hey, Bama's getting hammered too.
We're close to 3 FEET ahead of our yearly rainfall, so far for the year

Those things aren’t even real. Noise canceling is damn near scary. Gonna make a 3000 mile scooter trip way more better.
