MUCH easier to wake you up to feed him with a few extra pounds on his frame, that cat is a thinker.

You’ve been chosen by the cat distribution system.

We've got a couple at 20# or close enough as makes no difference. Once of them is a polydactyl - extra toes / big feet - so when she stands on your chest, it's like she's wearing snow shoes - no big deal. The other might as well be wearing stiletto heels.
Good lookin' boy. By his feet, he's still got some growin' to do.

It's worth checking in with your local animal shelter to see if they have a TNR (Trap Neuter Release) program in which they fix them, clip off a bit of the right ear tip to identify them as a cat that has been fixed, and they get released back into the same area they are familiar with.
Wife and I have done that with a number of the feral adults, some of whom later turned out to be friendly and adoptable. Safe to say we've done our bit for capturing and adopting or adopting out the kittens. If you work on those two fronts somewhat aggressively, you end up with a stable, non-breeding local colony.
It may not be much in the grand scheme of things for reducing world suffering, but it does greatly improve life for furballs who are out on the street for no reason other than asshole people.

Local group does just this. Now that I’m back from vacation I’ll be volunteering with them. Lady told me it wasn’t glamorous, scooping turds and sweeping floors. But since I’m handy and can “lift things” (her words

) I’ll probably be doing other stuff as well.

I have a feral farm cat. Kimber. Shes pretty cool. She thinks I’m kinda cool. ‘Cause I feed her every morning and evening. Already talked to a vet about trapping and fixing her. I might be too late. She’s a little fat and her boobies are showing…
If it’s not too late, I’ll get her fixed and let her take over my land.. she’s kinda cool.

There was a white feral tomcat hanging around after Kimber decided I was her slave. Apparently, based on the amount of white fur flying through the air, Kimber was not interested in getting laid at the moment.. So Tom met my 10-22… Yet to be seen if Kimber found a nicer boyfriend.

If you get a big Tom fixed and fed, he'll keep the other ones away.

]All of our cats have been feral at one point or another...This is Walter, Smudge and the Tiny House Panther...The kittens Mom became domesticated just long enough to have the kittens and wean them...and as soon as she found an open door the hussy was gone...ultimately found her out in the highway...Anyway Walter took over parenting duties and did a fine job of being a single parent

Ike and the kittens we have now have the same feral mother. She won't have any more. Someone in the neighborhood is poisoning cats.
