They tend to be a bit more difficult to find replacement grips for.. This one was my dad’s service revolver when he was a Deputy in Wyoming, with El Paso saddlery holster bought with it.

You suck!!! GREAT REVOLVER!
It’s probably considered sacrilegious but I kinda like those grips.

I need to look up the serial # to check the age
According to the Ruger website mine is from 1972. The first year of mfg.
And just like that, now I just hate you 🤬

Keep an eye on eBay. A little patience pays off. I've probably picked up 20-30 El Paso Saddlery holsters over the years for a fraction of what they cost buying directly from them, most of them in new or barely used condition. I literally have 5 of them on my desk right now that I just finished conditioning because they have been in storage for a while.

I’m pretty selective about the holsters I buy. All my DA revolvers and my pistols have at least one EPS strong side holster, probably most if not all of them Tom Threeperson styles. Many have a cross draw of the same style too. Some plain, some fully carved, some one of each. I have a few for 1911s and there is a handful of the Threeperson holsters for my Single action Cowboy guns too.

I probably have a few dups at this point because I forget what I have, but I won’t know until I unpack everything I own. I also have a bunch of Texas Jack Slim Jim holsters for my single actions, again strong side and cross draw and I have a bunch of lefties for my two gun rigs. I have a handful of Bianchi Frontier Leather holsters and probably more “The Duke” style holsters, actually the full rig with the folded suede leather belt, from a few manufacturers than I should admit to. Oh I also have a bunch of cartridge belts from EPS, Galco, DeSantis, Bianchi and others. I could probably arm and provide leather for the entire James Younger gang at this point 😎

These are right by me because I’ve been matching guns and cleaning leather as I inventory what I have so I can get a handle on things. All of these are EPS including the N Frame pancake holster, or Texas Jack (also EPS) except for the 4 5/8” SA double loop which is a San Pedro Saddlery. The one low hanging holster on bottom left is an EPS Special Edition Gen. Patton holster for an N Frame, and I have the left hand for a Colt SA just like the two gun rig he carried. They were only 1,000 sets made numbered and named.

And yes I also have a Stag fetish. Mr Elk Creek will notice I just found moose stag grips and a ALSO a set of original Ruger Rosewood grips for the birdshead so I now have a 3 grip set for that gun 😱

Remembered this morning I had this Triple K holster. I had bought it for another gun but it didn’t fit. Fits this Security Six like a glove.

That’ll work! I think any revolver for a S&W K Frame should work with the Security Six which gives you huge availability of rigs out there. Hope someone corrects me if I’m wrong.
