I am torn a little too… but I’ve seen what Justsomedude can do to a classic Smith and DAMM!!!!! Plus it’d be a pretty classic that is fine to use without diminishing return. My mind thinks in $$$s and guns as toys/investments/heirlooms.Admin wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 1:50 pm Damn nice Score! You suck!!
I'm torn on the refinish/ leave it alone decision. On one hand, making that look pretty would be awesome.... but I have really taken a liking to the look of a beat up finish from honest wear. The 3 Model 10s I picked up from a couple of years ago surplus from the Indonesian police really cemented it for me.
Anyway- interested in the range report!
Around 450 or so. Revolvers have more contours and odd surfaces so extra care has to be taken to keep from rounding corners and diveting screw holes, etc... The bluing isn't the difficult part. The sitting down and hand sanding and polishing for 10 to 12 hours is though.
And worth every dime of this. If you ever see his work, the man’s a true master!!! S&W can’t do what he does. Colt can’t do what he does. Old school level work.Justsomedude wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 10:48 pmAround 450 or so.
